Hey Cherry Sprinkle... where did you get your nightblooming stick?

Today I was down at work and pulled back with a cloth headband. Very unusual for me. I don't get as hot on Sunday because we aren't as busy. We had the air conditioning and a small fan running.

I would post a picture, but we rode with the windows down to get ice cream and it frizzed out! Not so pretty now :(

second attempt at a french herringbone... the top slid down a little so I used little clips to bring it back up and the top is poofy, but I kinda like it. I will have to keep trying. I had the whole thing done before I realized the sides slid down and I am not redoing it!! I think my shoulder muscles got a workout. Its half up, half down, with a little bobble in the back, and a butterfly grip keeping my fringe out of my face. Despite the afore mentioned messiness, I actually think it looks quite good, and I am looking forward to growing it more!!!!!!!

No, is actually a lot more complex than that but my hair isn't long or thick enough to show it properly :( You start off by sectioning the hair into thirds, the top portion is braided down to the nape of the neck, then the remaining hair is sectioned into halves, then you make 2 rope braids on each side and 3 from the remaining english braid hair (down the center of your back) and you braid them all together into one braid, then you twist that braid through the loop of the top english braid until you have a 'p' shape. The reminder is left as a rope braid hanging.. I didn't have enough to leave hanging so I just tucked my ends under.

I also did the Elling woman bun today, albeit a slightly modified version thereof. It started to look a little wonky after a few hours, but once I get my Amish pins I should be able to fix that pretty easily.

Well, today was my first day back from vacation and I didn't want to get up. There was no time to even finger comb really, so I ended up with a poofy pony bun with the length wrapped around my ponytail holder.

I am glad I put it up solidly today. There was a train wreck to clean up! :trainwreck:

It was 9 hours of work work work and then work again. We took this after I got home from work, cooked, changed, etc. Not too messy I guess, all things considered.

I changed my hairstyle a few times today since it's a day off. I do this anyway. I wore it in my standard bun (sig) for the most part, then went on a brief foray to the Plaid Pantry down the street in a half-up infinity bun with the tail left loose with the bottom layer.... then switched to down...then switched to my standard (sig) again...then switched to a variation on the elling woman bun. It looks like crap but it's holding well. :)

Look here (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=142) and click on the video link (I like to see video as well as written instructions). I think instead of keeping the coils against the head you kind of let it get more 3D - my DH descibes it as "samurai" buns because mine stick out so far. After letting it build out from the head you push the outermost (away from head) over the other coils. HTH!

Next time you make this hair do, you could try lace braid. That would eliminate the messy part. It's just as easy as french braiding (or dutch braiding) but instead taking new hair from both sides, you take hair from one side only, in this case from the front hair line's side. HTH! :flower:

I tried The Killer (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=37) today. I think I need longer hair to make it look cooler. It does not look very balanced to me; however, it was very comfortable to wear. It actually only took about 5 minutes, but I had to finger comb with water and jojoba oil for 10 minutes to get my hair ready for the rope braids. I like it! :D
