I have tried a new variant for a Chinese bun that I saw on Youtube where you start with a single ponytail instead of two. There is not much different between them but the two ponytail variety get more flat and a bit figure 8ty if I explain myself right and this one get a bit more round and have more of a bump in the center. I think I prefer the two ponytail variant but this one is quite okey to for variation.

Today I had a few different styles.

This morning I just put it in a ponytail, braided it, and then tucked up the braided ponytail.

When I got back from my morning job, I showered, so of course I re-did my hair. I air dried my hair, finger combed it, and when I got to my pm job I clipped the top half at the nape of my neck with a simple claw clip.

As soon as I got out of work, I took the clip down and shook it out. Now, at almost bed time, it's brushed out and will be braided for bed.

I had a lot of issues trying to secure an updo with the length that my hair is currently.

I tried tying it up with a bun cover, but it pulled at my hair and I couldn't secure the toy. I also tried tying it up with just a hair stick, and that didn't work either. Finally I just gave up and used a claw clip to secure my hair in a low pony, and then I twisted my bangs back and clipped them to the side. I definitely liked my a.m. updo better, even if it was a little uneven :)

and bended the braids around those bases and in the end it looks like a triquetra.
I´ ve seen a triquetra-bun somewhere else in the internet (google "triquetra bun" and you might find it),
it was definetely done in a different way (with extra buns as base... and without toothpicks... I guess) but look close to mine.

I like how it turned out, it reminds me of a sci-fi-hairstyle :thumbsup:

Bobbies are cool, but my hair gets stuck in them (like it's supposed to, heh) and ripped out when I remove them at the end of the day...not so great. Also, I'm terribly impatient and hate having to throw like 8 of them in to hold up a bun. Which is why discovering how to use hairsticks was a godsend!

I've got a ridiculous hairstyle that took quite a while to achieve. Two dutch lace braids braided from the hairline to the crown, the combined into one English braid. A ponytail pushed through the V between the two lace braids and then split into two rope braids. The first English braid topsied through the rope-braid pony twice, then the two rope braids were bunned, one going clockwise and one going counter clockwise and secured with two spin pins and decorated with some flower pins. *breath*

I hope that SOMEBODY followed that, because it was even confusing to write.

Oh, thank you for the info on the peacock twist. I could have used that last year when my hair was that length. I wouldn't have had to wait so long to buy my hairsticks! :)

Today, a cinnabun held up with bobby pins. I like the bobby pins, because the method for holding the hair up is invisible. So it looks like your hair just did itself up that way and is magically in place that way. :)

Wrap-around heidi braids. I can't do real heidi braids anymore, as my braids are too long, so I have to cross them behind my head and bring them up and around now.

I am wearing a folded English braid secured with my new Ficcare. I think this will be a favorite style. It looks good and has the added benefit of giving me braid waves if I want to wear it down.
