Started out with a left-sided side braid, but I got annoyed with the braid hanging loose, so I put the braid into a bun behind my left ear. We'll see if I get annoyed with a braided bun behind my ear. :D

ETA: Six hours (including a nap) later, I did not get annoyed with the braided bun behind my ear. It felt a little odd as I've never worn a single off-center bun before, but once I got used to it, it's actually very comfortable. It even survived the nap, although I was careful not to sleep on my left side (I'm a side sleeper). :happydance:

I have my hair in what I call an "elf princess" braid. It's nine english braids braided together twice to create one big braid out of little ones if that makes sense. It survived the night and can be put into a bun when it gets fuzzy, so I'm hoping it will last for a few days!! :)

I think Wildcat Diva came up with the idea. I heard about it some time ago so no idea whether there's a video or instructions anywhere.

You pull your hair through the donut hole and then form the discs around that. It worked fine except that my hair is so thin you could tell the hair rat was behind. The hairs in my shed-made rats goes in all directions, but the bun hairs all orient the same way and you could see the tangles behind. It looked awful.

I wound up going for a high braided cinnabun, because I wanted the bun to be out of the way while I was driving. I've found that buns at the back of my head or at the nape tend to get in the way of the headrest of the car seat (unless they're off center, like side-braided buns near my ears), forcing my head and neck into an uncomfortable position, but Florida hasn't yet gotten the memo that it's autumn and the weather should cool off a bit :lol: so the hair needs to be up, one way or another.

I think I'm about to take it down and take a nap, though. I had a stressful afternoon/evening yesterday, involving a (thankfully) minor car crash (no injuries, just minor body damage to the car I was driving and to the car that hit me), and I've been dealing with the administrative fallout from that all day today, and I just dun wanna adult anymore today.

My hair is up in an orchid bun held with a two prong horn fork. :) I needed a few bobby pins because my hair is fine, straight, slippery, and uncooperative, but all in all this bun hold pretty well once it's in. :)

Up in fishtail Heidi Braids. They're pretty heavily oiled which works with this style well. It's wash day tomorrow so I'm letting lots of coconut oil sink in today and overnight.

Oiled my hair last night, too lazy to wash out this morning. So a quick run through with a BBB (for oil distribution) and a bang twist/bump with a cinnabun later, I'm pulling off a sleek, slicked back hair style.

Do miss the wispies though :(
