CuteCrow I'm sorry you weren't overly impressed with them; the ones with actual centrepieces and coloured beads tend to be a lot nicer. Understandable going for simple ones to start with though; I went for fairly simple all-metal ones at first too, just to try them out. My very first hairsticks were LR as well :grin: Not the best quality but they were nice and cheap so decent starter sticks anyway. EDIT: But yours is the dreamcatcher, unless I got the wrong member to start with. That one looks great in your hair!.

I LOVE the U Pins (but like the sets of 2 a wee bit more) the circlet one was my first one I got (in rose gold) I was really happy for this sale for those on budgets who want to try goodies from LR (like I've wanted a leather-y one a while DD has a braided one that she can't use now but it isn't the same) I DO wish they would have had a few more of the "basic" flexi's, but I suppose the Molly and the flower all together made quite a few to choose from, I just felt that one more style may have been nice. BUT I think that honestly they did a pretty decent job on the selection.

I hear they have some good Black Friday deals.... or at least they have in the past! SO.... keep some funds open :D

I was there very early and had put 3 items in my cart.
Clicked Checkout and then it crashed.
It took a long time before the site was back up and it was only working for a short time again then.
But in the short time that it was up again, my cart was back to empty, so I hurried to put in all the items I wanted and 1 extra LOL
So 4 items. Clicked checkout, slooooooooooooowwwwww, crash...up again and it went through with the checkout this time!
I clicked the last button to confirm order, and then it crashed again.
But I got email confirmation from LR and Paypal, so it got through alright YAY!!!
Meanwhile it was 2 am here LOL

I have no flexi's like this yet (the leathers and the "thin tubed" flexi's), so it was a great opportunity to try the sizes :)

I am so glad for all those that were missing out due to the crash, they got another go today :)

I think it was also kind of a bad first impression. I can say I'm starting to trust a lot more the marigold stick, I feels a lot more sturdy than it looks. I still don't trust the Sulivan one though :lol:

Now I've seen it too, by searching for the #lillarose hashtag in Instagram (you can see it in a browser even without an IG account, thankfully). The green one looks almost like the Emerald Dream clip!
If you guys remember the Emerald Dream and Violet clips, these new ones seem to be just like these. A green and a red version.
I love this design, it's one of my favourite ones, but (exactly for this reason) I have the Emerald Dream and Violet clips, and when it comes to a red clip, I have the Crimson Joy which was a Christmas clip a few years ago. It's a darker metal and a square center, but the difference is so small that I'm afraid I can't justify buying the new red one.

So my wallet is safe.

But I am waiting for action shots more impatiently than I have for the past couple of months!

These are held up only by the flexi.
It stays up because the thin ends of my hair are wrapped tighter under the bun.
When I have to go somewhere I usually stick in 2 amish pins for extra safety.

Aand my order came in the mail today. I have to say the XXS size is TINY, I have a XS and wasn't expecting the XXS to be that much smaller. I do like it nonetheless and think it's really cute.

The crow one is a SM, the triquetra is XS and the flower is XXS. You can see how there isn't that much of a difference in the size of the "8" between the SM and XS, I was expecting a similar difference.

Yes, the crow one is a modified flexi but I haven't got around to taking a proper picture with it on my hair. All I've taken are either too dark or my hair covers the flexi completely haha.
I have to say I'm loving the little "ciclet" u-pin, now I'm sure that once my hair is long enough to start buying forks I have to buy those with a curvature :)

So bummed :( These are not available anymore in other sizes, or any size for that matter.

I didn't wake up until a couple of hours after the sale had started so I think I missed a couple in any usable size, but nothing extremely disappointing. I got the sloth and zebra in XXL which I wasn't expecting to be cheap enough, so I'm very happy :D

eresh Sorry to hear your leathers aren't fitting you the way you want anymore. Good luck finding a new style to use them with. Don't forget you can try contacting your stylist. She may be able to find one of those braided leathers for you. The worst that can happen is she can't find one.

:couch: My bank account is mad at me because I succumbed to the flash sale too. Actually ended up doing two orders.

The first order I picked up those sun and moon u-pins, not part of the flash sale, but the flash sale gave me the push i needed to buy them, 2 large surprise flexis, 2 medium surprise flexis, 2 small surprise flexis, large surprise u-pin, a couple flash sale bobbies, the Penelope bobbies(which i had been eyeing), and tide pool bobbies(which i had also been eyeing).

Second order: 2 medium surprise flexis, 2 small surprise flexis, (they were sold out of the large at that point) large surprise u-pin, surprise u-pin set,(which was sold out when i placed my first order), a different flash sale bobby that was added in at 6PT.

I missed seeing what was offered at the 9PT lot, since that is 11PM for me.

I ordered some surprise flexis - 2 XXL, 2 L, 1 S and 2 XS. This really felt like my last chance before we need to pay import VAT and therefore handling fees on everything (unless the overseas company registers with HMRC - since LR understandably take no responsibility for customs/import charges currently, I do not expect them to do so next year!) so that's why I bought quite a few. I had hoped to try out some U-pins and I could have picked up some Lux, but realistically I don't think I'm likely to experiment with styles that need them, and if I somehow did find they were great, well I can't justify buying any more from next year anyway with the charges :shrug:

I did, and I was kindof disappointed.
They're nice but I expected more the way it was announced (original specially compiled flexi's, old fotm's, never seen before flexi's).
Mine: No beads, No colours, very plain jane nickel flexi + nickel center.
I like the flowery center.
Not what I would have picked myself. Good thing they were only 4 dollars ;)
But in a next sale I won't be tempted by surprises anymore.

I've seen the fish one with those colours and it was really beautiful :)
But the hummingbird center is a bit smaller than the fish.

I got the fish in 3 different sizes and the colors are quite different from one to another... being my fav the xxs lol. Mine are blue-green-purplish, but I also have seen others more pink and I don't like them. So yep, you can love them or loathe them. I passed on the hummingbird, also I'm not fond of that design.

I don't know the exact facts of it, but it was decided in Brussels for the whole EU :(
Caused because of unfair trading differences (AliExpress, Wish) and now all sellers/buyers must suffer :(
You even have to pay for packages within Europe and even within the EU!

LillaRose has amazing shippingrates for international customers, 4 dollars, but with the additional 15-17 euros plus the tax % over the value, it is very expensive to buy something.
So I will only buy something in the future which is reaaaaally special in combination with a sale.

But Etsy...I can forget about that ... Shipping there is often 15 dollars, so that makes it TOO expensive.
I'll see if I can free some budget to get 2 more WindSong forks and that's the end of it :(

But I guess we'll see. Oh wow, I did not think it would happen :thud: If it means what it appears to mean, then EU makers and members to swap with might still be affordable ... It looks like we won't fall under the EU but zero tariffs should mean zero charges? Everything has to go through customs though anyway ... does that mean a handling charge of will it be included in the price of international postage? I guess rather than getting overly excited I'll have to wait and see.
(Not to get too political but the rest of it doesn't sound like it quite worth 4 1/2 years of money down the drain and irreconcilable divisions :bigeyes:)

EDIT: everyone within the EU already pays VAT for within-EU purchases, which is why import VAT is a thing for goods coming in from outside. So intra-EU purchases shouldn't change, surely? Just abolishing the low threshold for import VAT for things coming from outside. (We also pay VAT for goods and services in the UK, will continue to do so and would have done regardless of a deal.) Does make sense with the warehouses though; before your comment I'd only heard of it being because parcels are routinely declared as lower value than they really are, which meant a lot of things that should have had import VAT charged, didn't.

I hope you get as many as possible of the ones you seek, and that's really lovely of the Etsy maker!

At first I wanted to buy basically everything, but then I ordered only one (the golden Posie): I'm currently in a weird in-between length, and I fear I'll soon outgrow my current size.

The little ones are XS, perfect for half-ups but my hair is too thick even with the undercut to have them hold all my hair. The bigger one a think is a small or medium.

Thank you :o I'm not a fan of MLMs either. In this case it's still okay for me because you can buy directly from the homepage and the consultants don't have to meet certain quotas.

I also had some good news regarding the changing EU rules for buying things outside the EU.
You have to pay 21% tax (I don't mind that, I pay that for purchases here too) and the importcosts for packages bewlow 150€ will be 4€ (instead of 13 to 17,50) YAY!!!!
If you pay the tax in the online store within the purchase price, NO importcosts at all!

So this is not so bad as they first made it out to be, I can do flexi purchases when there is one I really really like.
I asked LillaRose about the new OSS system, where you pay the tax in the shopprice, but they said they don't know yet.
Probably not.

BUT!

I already read on the Etsy helppages that Etsy is going to imply this OSS system on their site, so you pay the tax within the price. (and thus no importcosts at the border)

More good news, if someone sends you a gift below the value of 45€, NO tax or importcosts at all!

This is for The Netherlands, I don't know what it will be like in other EU countries.

So... In Poland, up until recently, one could buy things from outside of the EU for up to 150 euros without paying customs fees. I was basically always safe with my Flexi purchases. (And all other purchases too. I have only paid customs fees once in my life, for a watch.) It was one of the highest customs value thresholds that I had heard of. And the international shipping in the Flexi shop is so miraculously cheap, that when I really wanted a clip, I didn't have to think twice.

Well, now all the imported packages, regardless of value, have to have customs paid on them. I'm afraid to know how much it will be.

Edit: I got it wrong! I've just done more reading and found a website that has a nice and clear description of the legal changes. There is still no customs fee for packages up to 150 euros (awesome!) but now there is VAT for all packages, while before shipments that were valued at less than 22 euros were exempted from VAT.

Today on Facebook I saw the sport Flexis in three autumnal colours too: cocoa brown, brick red and olive green. I am very curious about the material. I'm waiting for close-ups and reviews to learn if it's rubber or maybe this kind of plastic that has a soft, suede-like touch to it.

I like the autumn colours too. But I'm not sure about the sizing... The description says that there are "up to 3 sizes in one" and that a Flexi Sport "fits XS, SM, MD". And I can't see a larger option.

My sport flexis are in (quick quick!). When laid flat, they appear to fall right between a medium and large. In use, they’re good for half ups. I could not fit my entire ponytail in one.

Yes, I am a iii. It’s all fine strands, so on a good day it compresses down nicely and on a bad day it’s hard to contain them. Haha yesterday was medium, if that helps!

Bigger sizes would be awesome! I totally would exercise in these if they made larger ones.

The stick is a sturdy hard plastic, and the flexi is matte, ‘suede’ rubber, but flexible.
