That's my week done! I enjoyed it. The practice with buns and braids will be very handy when I start my teaching placement. I don't think I'd like to keep my hair up like this all the time, though, so I'll not be setting myself a larger goal.

Hey all! :)
I've finally stopped waffling, and decided to just go ahead and join this challenge! :D
My hair has reached that stage where it's midway between shoulder and APL, and it's pretty awkward. Usually, I wear my hair up when I'm out, but leave it down at home... but I think it would be fun for myself and DBF to be shocked by how much it's grown when I finally do start wearing it down again. :)

So anyway, here's my goal:
One month of hair up all the time (including after a shower, I'll be braiding it when wet, then going to sleep, as I shower in the evening.)

I'll probably extend the challenge for myself when I reach my goal, because one month only equals about 1" of growth, and I figure it'll still be awkward.

Challenge start date: April 23rd
End date: May 23rd

Today is Day 882. Started in a perfect cinnabun with the Pat Areias silver fork. Lasted all of half an hour. Lazy wrap bun followed that lasted not much longer. It's in a cinnabun again with the fork and a ficcarissimo and a couple of little clippies and it's still precarious. Pffft!

I am coming to love this style more and more- easy to do, looks super pretty, I get allot of compliments, and I can oil my hair in the morning, put it up with no one being able to tell it is oiled, then wear it to bed (super comfy and hair is really protected), then wash it in the morning.

Day 1, wore hair in french twist secured with a Scunci Upzing, which is, unfortunately, going to be the go-to style for my hair until I can buy more hairtoys/grow more hair.

It is disappointing, I used to have a large selection of forks/sticks until I had my unfortunate hair incident, and then I sold/gave away my collection because I couldn't bear to look at them. Regrets? Yes...

I am going to oil/bun my hair tonight, and then wash my hair in the morning.

My goal day is May 24, I want to wear my hair down for my kids' awards day at school. I have been going since sometime in January i think. :D

Today I had a modified cinnamon bun with my black and red calla-lily stick. Yesterday was an English braid, and tomorrow will be a braided cinnabun with my karma clippy :)

After a horrible incident with scissors and my own "creativity" *shudders* I can't do anything with my hair but wear it up...so the first of this month I've started my journey..and I'm going for 3 months. Wish me luck! All I know so far is a pony tail and a half-ponytail..maybe a bun...I'm not very great at updos and my hair is too short to braid, rather too uneven, as I've got little random bits poking out. Any suggestions for an updo noobie?
I'm definitely going to be going through this thread for ideas...only 820 pages to go...;)

Most of the time it is difficult to keep a nice look during this period...
For me it was a nightmare...
One tip.. I use hair accessories to feel and look good with these medium, average sizes of hair...

Today I wore it in two full french braids with the ends tucked under for yoga and Pilates, they were my sleep braids that I ran out of time to redo before I had to go to class. After that, I took them out, combed my hair, and then did 2 half french braids that ended in a braided baby cinnabun. I have this awful temptation to let my hair down when I get home, and that is where I get the most damage, so I tend to put it in my sleep style a bit early, because it seems more relaxed. Tonight, I'm wearing 4 french braids.

I have to say I am absolutely in love with coconut oil. I never thought I would be able to use it with my fine hair, and I probably would have to worry more about looking greasy if I was wearing it down all the time, but since I have it up, I am looking good. And it's like- my hair is happy. Weird huh? I grew my hair out to tbl before, and I didn't take care of it, and it never looked happy. It kind of surprises me that my hair can look decent...

BTW, many times recently my updo has been -- wait for it -- the "Masara"! I found it on Torrin's YouTube channel and was so pleased with it -- it's one of the few styles she demonstrates that will work with hair as long (or perhaps more accurately, short) as mine currently is, and as an added bonus it's beautiful, easy to do, and holds all day.

Hi! I'm jumping in here with a commitment to finish out a year. I've already been recording my personal challenge to wear it up in my blog, and I'm on day 77. I've worn it in a ponytail once and down once in that time (other than air drying around the house and a few times at night).

Today is day 77 - hypno bun.


btw, I'm really pleased with how this challenge has encouraged me to look for and try new and different updos. I've gone from feeling a bit unlike myself with my hair up to feeling very, very comfortable with it up and not feeling like myself when it is down--all in a couple of months!
