Well, I've made my goal of a year, with an occasional "down day" allowed here and there. I'd guess I've worn my hair down 10-12 times total, so about once a month.

And now my hair is to the length where I wouldn't want to wear it down any more often than that, and I have many updos in my bag of tricks now, so I'm ready to take on "beyond tailbone"!!!!!!!

What should the next challenge be? Another year? A different updo every day? Hmmmmmm....

I've been experiencing a lot of breakage lately now that my hair is a bit past shoulder length so I will be joining the challenge. I'm going to try to wear my hair up every day for a month except on wash day (1x per week). Since my hair is so short plus i have layers I cant do much more than a ponytail, pulled through bun (like when making a ponytail but not pulling hair all the way through on the last loop) and a messy french braid. As today I have been bumming around the house and not feeling too well its been up in a ponytail I'll count it as day 1.

OK, I am officially joining up. After a year of serious trims, I am finally ready to see some length. I am due for my quarterly trim now, but don't see any splits yet so I'm going to skip it. I have already done one and a half years up with great results. The best part is when you wear it down every great while, it's like a magic trick. okay im starting again! last month i failed cos i was struggling to get hair up in more than a ponytail and i was worried the elastics were encouraging breakage! However i have had a growth spurt and i have discovered a feww more updo's and braids that are holding now that my layers are more grown! so:

day 1: claw clip (that held wonderfully, keeping all my hair in which didn't annoy me)!! :D

Day 4 - Washday. French twist with ficcare innovation clip. Had problems getting it secure for some reason although it had always worked fine in the past. Hair was feeling too "thick" :shrug:. Keeping the hair down now til dry.
