I've challenged myself to wear my hair up until spring arrives,because I get nasty damage from wearing my hair down in the winter AND because I want to grow the few inches that keep me from my over-the-boobs goal in peace :D

My rules are:
x Braids count as up,however,I'll allow myself to wear it in braids 2-3 times a week max.
x Hair can be down for special occasions.

Currently on day 4.I need support,as I'm going kinda cold turkey on this - I doubt I ever wore my hair up for more that a week and a half,and suddenly I'm decided to have it up for MONTHS :D

I'm kinda curious about which comes first - spring (meaning 21 of March) or my mini-goal lenght!

This is an interesting idea. Usually I am pretty slack with my hair care, I can go for a day or two without even brushing it, thankfully my hair is rather forgiving with regards to tangles.

I did an equilibrium bun today and I found it very comfortable and secure, so I think this could become a regular up do for me. I am going to aim for a fortnight to begin with, and I am also giving myself the rule of not doing the same thing two days in a row. I can see I will be stalking the hairstyle of the month section as generally I don't do much beyond a pony, I have just learnt how to do a French plait in the last month or so and rope plait not much before that.

Yes, really. All you need is practice. I usually commit myself to one new hair style for one week, because that's how long it takes me to truly learn it and then I add it to the rotation. :D

i used to have wl hair and i always wear it up not to be protective but just to forget about it, i didnt know anything about hair and it grow because i was lazy enough to go a salon and i didnt pay attention to it, but when i cut it to my shoulders nobody realized that i used to have long hair because it was always up.

i mix it up a bit, when my hair is not too curly and i can manage separating sections easily. Having said that, i have made a pact with myself that if i do this challenge as long as i can, I can have one day a month where i let it completely down, however i like.

I saw this thread some weeks ago and I thought it would be nice to stick to this challenge from then until my baby is born (which were about 220 days then), but didn't post because I wasn't sure I could manage it. Now seeing that I have already worn it up all those days, I'll give it a go: I just have another 205 days to do, lol. I'll give myself a bit of slack, specially for those days I don't get out of home and just lay around, and I say 200 days with hair up, 5 days with possible hair down.

Well, I've decided to participate in this challenge from october 31st to november 30th (I'm my birthday), because. I'm finally able to wear my hair up comfortably, and I want most of it shoulderlength by then. Some of it is already, but there are still so many irritating layers that I wish would just go away. Ill be cutting off probably half an inch after this month, and will probably consider going another month/six months/a year/two years of wearing it up, because I just want to pretend that the awkward shoulderlength to bsl phase doesn't exist (:

I must say the itchings to put my hair down have decreased significantly by yesterday- it was a braid day.
AND IT WENT UP THE MOMENT IT TOUCHED MY JACKET.Ow and ouch and POP! sounds all over my hair.Guess I'm only fine with braids if I'm doing something that requires very little head movements.

After that,I'm fully decided to stick with my challenge until spring!

This is fun so far, I am finding I am more dexterous than I thought with buns. I am sure I'm not doing them brilliantly, but they are staying up there with no trouble which is nice. I do get sick of using claw clips and the dpns are holding my hair better and are more comfortable than the clips are most of the time.

I must say the itchings to put my hair down have decreased significantly by yesterday- it was a braid day.
AND IT WENT UP THE MOMENT IT TOUCHED MY JACKET.Ow and ouch and POP! sounds all over my hair.Guess I'm only fine with braids if I'm doing something that requires very little head movements.

After that,I'm fully decided to stick with my challenge until spring!

Been doing many braids lately,as stick up-do's have somehow gotten uncomfortable.
It's getting better now.

Today I wore my hair in two braided ponytails ( yeah,changed my mind about this one- I now consider it an up-do.).After I came home I unbraided them,and since I was bored of looking at my face with hair pulled back,I did two cinnabuns on top of my head...It's surprisingly comfy!

Slightly miffed as the hairagami set I ordered arrived, and isn't as good as I had hoped. I can't really get any of it to work in my hair, except the screw things, it all looks a look more plastic and cheap than it does on the box, and about a third of the tools mentioned on the dvd aren't actually included in the box. Plus, one of the monkey bands broke the second I tried to put it in my hair. This irks me.
Still, vent over, I'm sure I'll come up with ways to use it all. On the plus side, it's wash day tomorrow! :)

I read online bunning promtes growth & protects your hair, Ive worn it up. So will see if it can get to tailbone. Waist seems short. Just ten inches please!

I can't believe I've done a month! I'm considering carrying on until Christmas, but I'm not sure. I've been practising with the hairigami stuff and I'm getting good at a few new styles, I think I need a little more practise though before I add them to the rotation. :)

I have never heard of this! It sounds like so much fun! I think that I will try it! I have been trying to grow out my hair and I desperately watch it hoping that it will magically grow like crazy in front of me.
