Usually it's every other day for me because my hair needs watering. It's like a plant. I also have a scalp that likes to shed skin quickly--probably sebhoreah (sp?) like my mom has. It's not flaky, but dead skin just builds up in a day or two.
I have very oily/thin hair
"Cleanliness is next to godliness!" - I like having freshly washed hair
My hair seems to demand water because it is dry/curly
I have scalp issues that make frequent washes necessary
If I vote, can I have a bit of cheese?
It's a scalp thing for me, though my hair also starts to clump unattractively if I go longer than two days without washing. It makes it look a lot thinner than it is by showing lines of scalp in sectioned updos. I've noticed that doesn't happen when freshly washed.
Though I've noticed I get a similar effect when my roots start to grow out, except it's an optical illusion. I'll look in the mirror and think, "Egads, a scalp line!" Then I'll lean in closer and see its not a scalp line at all. The paler color just had me fooled.

Scalp issues. Sometimes I'm able to stretch washes to three times a week but that's it, that's as far as I can go. My ends don't really like all the washing so I try to only wash my scalp every once in a while. I would love to wash my hair maybe once or twice a week but nope, won't happen for me.
It's nice to have freshly washed hair though.
Scalp issues for me. I have to wash every other day. I just make sure to CWC to help protect the length.
What you find irresistable is what you choose not to resist.
I washed every other day, now trying to stretch my washes to every 4 days, but finding my hair is super greasy, so I may try every other day until my hair gets used to poo bars.
I have to weigh in as a daily scalp washer. I spent the last 2 years trying to stretch washes, my hair never adjusted, it always looked oily the 2nd day and I had a lot of scalp itchies. I finally caved and started washing daily, with a very mild shampoo 6 days a week with an SLS shampoo thrown in once weekly. My scalp was happy (and clean) but my ends were getting too dry.
I finally have found some middle ground by ponytailing my ends and covering with a baggie and just washing my scalp. Seems to be working much better and now my ends usually only get shampoo once, sometimes twice weekly.
I admire those who can go a whole week (or longer) between washes, I wish I could but my hair and skin even at my age are too oily and it's not pretty.
Am I late? Lol. My scalp gets itchy after two/three days, so I have to wash it. I have eczema. Ive had it since i was a little baby, my skin is extremely sensitive
I do not usually wash every other day (it's usually I've a week, ish) BUT if I needed to look presentable I would have to scalp wash every other day, thanks to oily hair.
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness
I have SD, seborrheic dermatitis, also since I was wee (baby) and needed to wash it 2/3 times a week as a teen. Now I can suddenly go a week (same with dad, who also has SD). Our scalps are in sync it seems. Definitely know what it's like having to keep on top of something.
Welcome to the forum, BTW!
My hair is oily, even if I try to strech washes it is still oily so I wash my scalp daily or every other day. Also my ends are quite dry and they need constant moist, but they don't tolerate leave-in products so I condition daily too. And I like freshly washed hair xD
