Default Lightening hair just a little bit?

Hi, how can I lighten my hair just like one or two shades so it still looks natural? What should I do or use? I thought of mild peroxide but wouldn't it make my hair yellow or orange (my natural is very light brown)? Or maybe a hair dye that lifts a only a few shades. Or maybe sun in? I welcome any advice, thank you!

I think you'll find this Nightshade article very useful It's focused on henna, but if you want to lighten just a lil bit might be useful for u too.

I would try it plus a blue or purple toner, to relieve the red/brassy color.

I would use either a bleach bath or a spray like say "Sun-in". But I had light brown hair in my teens (not as dark yet as it is now) and Sun-in (called "Spray blond" here at the time) turned my hair very brassy.

If you have brown hair, there is red pigment in there, and it will turn orangy-red before it turns blonde if you don't use a decent enough strength of peroxide/bleach.

I would maybe try lifting with a box dye, to go a few shades lighter; at least it won't be brassy.
    But always strand test!

I used to bleach my hair a lot when I was younger and usually it went yellow. I think I have like level 7? Maybe between 7 and 6. I will look into bleach bath but since I haven't tried it yet I want to test it on a strand. Thank you!

I am not trying to lighten henna but I see there are natural ways of lightening hair. Thank you!

Hi, you can try this box dye called, "Clairol Nice N Easy color 11 Ultra Light Blonde." It'll lighten your hair up 2 or 3 shades lighter, and it's permanent hair lightning plus color. I've always like Nice N Easy. Because, it really treats your hair well, and it helps the color to look natural as well.

Level 7/6 you probably have less to worry about than I did. And if it doesn't turn brassy, a spray like that would probably work!

If you're somewhere in the range of a level 6 or 7 and your hair has no color in it, then a permanent color box dye in a level 8.1 ash blonde would probably work quite well for you, its only a couple of shades lighter and the ash in it should counteract brassy tones.

    Good luck
