What are you hoping to achieve with henna and indigo? Do you have a specific color in mind or is it more for strengthening your hair?

I'd give the indigo a day or two. Sometimes henndigo is greenish until the henna oxidizes fully, and then that makes the green of the indigo disappear.

I fixed it! Thank you so much for all of your help!

I did 30 mins of Henna with about 1/3 indigo on the ends. I made sure to really saturate the hair in the back, and I took special care to blend into the crown so there wouldn't be a big line if the color came out too different. I think it looks really good. My length feels stronger, but it probably needs a deep condition after all of the washing, henna-ing, and blow drying. (I don't normally blow dry, but I was impatient to see the results)

I am really happy with this color. I think I can easily maintain this now.

    Just an update:

It was/is still patchy in good light, especially where I have a lot of indigo. Two weeks ago I went to the salon to see if they could help. My favourite hairdresser there did know not to use any bleach or anything harsh after henna. She did a gloss, which came out very nice and shiny.

Unfortunately I wound up hemorrhaging and was rushed to the hospital and into surgery the same day. There were complications due to a recent health issue, but long story short, I lost a lot of hair in the week following my surgery. I don't know if it is because of blood loss and shock or because of hormonal fluctuations (I was pregnant last month), but now I am trying to eat plenty of protein and iron rich foods to help fuel hair regrowth.

If anyone has advice on helping hair grow, I would appreciate it. I already have very very thin hair. I am taking my leftover prenatal vitamins and biotin. I made bone broth to help my recovery after surgery. I am going for walks and doing gentle exercise.

I also plan to try another henna application in a month or so to try to blend in the dark patches. I don't want it to get too dark though.

Just take good care of yourself and give your body and mind time to heal. Hormones and surgery probably will have a temporary effect, and then you’ll have new growth sprouting all over the place.

It sounds like you’re doing the right things, health wise. Good nutrition, patience and TLC will get you there.
