That looks great, SwanFeathers!!! And we are practically hair twins, haha. I particularly love the photo with your hair henna'd and braided... It looks so smooth and healthy. Great job!
    Onwards.

    Swanfeathers that turned out great!

Sadly I don't have a picture of my natural hair color since I started dying my hair when I was 11, but it's close to this.

With multiple layers of pure henna:

Then I transitioned to Fire Genasi. Here you can see the Fire Genasi for the first few inches and the straight henna for the rest:

Then finally I lightened the length with Sun-In to match and I've been on straight Fire Genasi ever since.

So after 3 months, the warm brown-gold color that my hair faded to after a whole head fire-genasi treatment finally pushed me over the edge. That wonderful color that my hair was immediately after fire genasi had looked so nice, and I'd received so many compliments that I went 100% henna to replicate it. I never thought that I would love this burgundy wine color, but I really really do. Here is my color progression from natural to fire-genasi to straight henna.

    Natural

    Fire genasi

    Henna

    Fire genasi

    Henna

    Natural in sunlight.

    Fire genasi indirect sunlight

Wowzers! That's a delicious colour! The fire genasi colour was lovely too but with full henna is very striking. Enjoy!
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness

    Here is shortly before

Here is shortly after my first, (and only so far,) treatment.

It went pretty dark after that and some people cannot even tell it has red in now, (my signature picture was taken after a couple weeks.) I used a henna only product and left it on for 3 hours.

    Nightshade,
The picture that shows the first few inches with Fire Genasi makes me think this is something I ought to transition too. I have my second pure henna mix here and I'm planning to do it tonight. Likely I'll transition from onward.
Also, your pictures are just lovely, really gorgeous captures.

I like that color; and I had the same thing happen. I think it's so typical for henna, inside you get some kind of brown and it flashes orange or red in the (blazing) sun. Henna is funny like that.

I made a collage, hope it's helpful to anyone looking to see possible outcomes.

SwanFeathers, your hennaed colour is so amazing. Breathtaking. Wow!

And why couldn't I achieve that kind of colour with henna? Blah...
