What one cardinal sin do you regularly commit on your hair?!

Maybe it is wearing it down. But when I think about it, I no longer to that. Surely, there is something else I shouldn't do and still do. We can't do everything perfectly, right?

Supposedly you shouldn't brush curly hair but I do it every day.

Me, too! Well, after a couple of days following a wash. My hair is the kind of curlythat brushes out into waves, though...I say if there's no breakage because of it, don't worry!

I don't really brush my length anymore as it's too much work, but I brush through my roots and also just recently got a BBB again and love it <3

Other than that I wash often with shampoo, wear my hair down and blowdry occasionally. So nothing too crazy

I don't believe there is such a thing as "cardinal sin" (especially not hairwise), as long as I & my hair are happy

I use sulphates. I guess thats a bit of a no-no. Been thinking about switching to SLS free stuff but I have SD so I need it every once in awhile.
I scalp wash only so I hope its not doing too much damage.

And some say the "sulfate brigade" here is too loud... Apparently it's not loud enough, if that's still considered "a no-no"

I am growing out a hideous pixie cut, and so am taking ridiculously good care of my hair. I do the weekly coconut oil treatments. I only use sulphate-free products. I never use heat on it. I never use styling products on it. I never use dye on it. I take vitamins. I do hair masks. I only use a really wide detangling comb, and comb gently from the ends up to the roots. Etc etc etc.

There are people here who grow and dye.
There are people here who use sulfates.
There are people here who use styling products (a lot of them).
There are people here who use their blow dryers.
There are people here who have to wash frequently.

None of them are "cardinal sins". It's just a YMMV thing.

I guess I view washing your hair too often as a cardinal sin, because EVERYONE bangs on and on about how you shouldn't do it!! Unfortunately, everyone that bangs on about it, has hair that isn't greasy and limp, and simply doesn't need to be washed every day!

I am also guilty of using water that is too hot. In fact, I always have the shower cranked up to the hottest setting for the same reason as you! I have arthritis in my upper back, and find a hot shower hose pointed at it works wonders. I also take baths a lot too. Sounds like we are very similar!

So, I actually have TWO cardinal hair sins, not one!!

Addendum: I am using the phrase "cardinal sin" slightly tongue-in-cheek. I realise it is not an ACTUAL cardinal sin. It's just, if you were to believe most youtubers who run hair channels, or a lot of bloggers, you are going STRAIGHT TO HELL if you wash your hair, basically, EVER!

@dvep: Me too! I LOVE hot showers and baths, and could basically live in a hot spring 24/7 if I had access to life's other essentials from there! I live in a less sunny state, but our summers do get pretty hot, and I hike and run a lot in summer, so always try to protect my head with a sun umbrella, or hat. So hopefully, my strands are protected from the sun, phew!

My major sin.. I'm too lazy at times with my hair and I leave it in braids for long times without detangling inbetween days and I get awful matted hair T_T. Sometimes I, oh my it's so hard to say it, I leave the conditioner in my hair overnight cuz I got to lazy to wash my hair there I said it burn me now!
