I’ve always had them. I switch between embracing them and trying to cut in a few tendrils to make it look purposeful vs. trying to grow them out/hide them. One January 1 I cut face framing tendril in again and I’m embracing them. I like how they soften up the look of updos and braids.
My attempts at growing out wispiness have never been particularly successful. The hair around the edges just seems to have a shorter terminal length, despite my best efforts.

I always assumed that, barring the use of product to force them to stay down, everyone had wispies!
When I draw hair, I like to explicitly include them, similar to Cassandra Calin's style:
I'm obsessed with the way she illustrates hair. So much attention to detail!

Just trying to get by
New growth is exciting! I have a little patch up front too... it looks like new growth as opposed to breakage. I don’t remember losing that much hair but I suppose I *was* shedding pretty bad a few months back. Not sure why... could be stress, post surgical hair loss, or maybe from some weight loss over the past year (unintentional, but about 15 pounds, which I attribute to being neurotic at the beginning of the shut down)
Yes! I have these. I’m starting to learn to use them to go with my hairstyle instead of trying to do a perfect updo and unsuccessfully pretend they don’t exist.
I'm in the club! I don't think that whispies can be tamed for long.

Those blue sticks are such a pretty contrast with your hair, bokeh!
Love it, bokeh - you are hair goals! I hope my hair looks that gorgeous when my silvers finally take over - I get a similar silver halo to you, I just wish the rest of my hair would match!
Letting my hair do whatever it wants to do!
