Thread: Thickness vs build-up rate

  1. #21

Default Re: Thickness vs build-up rate

I dont clarify anymore. I used to as a new member here, but when my routine became simpler and simpler, I just stopped needing to.

I do use sulfates, and silicones, and a mineral oil leave in.

I said I clarify every 2 months, but really it's more like every 6 months or so. I have fine hair, and a fairly simple routine, but I do eventually get build up.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you know if your hair has build up?

My hair is a F and I tend to costantly battle with build-up. And I'm not even using leave ins, oils and similar stuff!

I have F and M hairs pretty much 50/50. I get build-up quite easily and especially if I use oils. I clarify twice a month or when needed.

M - I have very little build up when I use shampoos with SLS. If I don't use SLS for a long period of time, I need to clarify every week.

My hair is F, iii, and washed weekly. The suds get smushed into the lengths and for me that is enough.

My hair is F and the only poo I use is a diluted clarifying poo. I clarify every time I wash my hair.

I have coarse hair and I don't clarify unless my hair desperately needs it, which is no more often than once every 2 years or more. I'm sensitive to sulfates so clarification would do damage itself anyway.

My hair is super fine with regular volume and I have never ever clarified it except maybe for a baking soda experiment I did and turned out not so good!

I have to say that I hadnt use conditioner or heavy mask deeo treatment for almost 5 years... so that can be the main reason... My hair is super silky by nature so I dont need to do a lot of things to it.

Im a natural 1B-C head and growing out from so!
