Hi! I'm the newest member (for now)...
Hello Everyone!
I decided to see how long my hair would grow about a decade ago, but I got stuck in a cycle of cutting in layers (because my hair is kinda thick), and growing them out (because the shredded braids did not please me). Now, I'm finally layer-free and blunt between hip- and tailbone-length. My braids only reach the bottom of my shoulder due to the thickness, and I want them to be longer... so I definitely want to keep growing, but I need some inspiration. At the moment, I don't know anyone who has hair longer than me and I'd like to change that!
I'm a big hair nerd and am so excited to learn more about protective styles that work for thick hair. Right now braids are my favorite, especially the kind that become crowns ^_^
Looking forward to sharing more and learning more with you all. Thanks so much to the folks who run this site, it's really quite amazing!

What do you mean by "the bottom of my shoulders"?

Howdy, nice to meet you! I know we have some thicker-haired members on here who maintain layers, but there's a "growing out layers" thread on the forum as well.

Meant to write "shoulderblades" - I'm not familiar with the terminology around here, but I think it's the same as BSL. ^_^
