    Default Curly Girl: The Handbook?

Do any of you have "Curly Girl: The Handbook", which is supposed to be the newest edition of the original "Curly Girl" book? I'm wondering how much it's different than the original edition. I went to my local Books-A-Million yesterday and they did not have it for me to peruse.

Yes, I have it. And it indeed is the 'new' version.
I never had/read the first one so I can't say anything about the difference between them.

Well, I gave in and ordered it so I'm hoping it's worth it. My local library no longer has the first edition in their system anyway.

    Haha, ok!

Well, I loved it and it has helped me SO much when it comes to accepting, knowing how to care for and loving my hair the way it is.
But it was my first introduction to the curly girl method. So if you already know the first one I don't know if the second one is gonna be better/interesting to you.
If not, you can always give it as a present to another curlie who doesn't know how to take care of their hair yet ^_^

Let us know if you like the book and maybe what the difference between the two is?

The biggest difference is there's a DVD that comes with it, with video information, basically the whole method explained that way, in small increments with video clips. Very nice, I thought! It is worth getting the new one!

I'm kind of more interested in what she has about cutting your own hair. I'm too broke these days to spend $30-$50 in a salon any longer.

Well there's not a whole lot in there about that, apart from the method of cutting your individual curl-ends.
