Aren't there (smartphone virgin here) ad-blockers for the phones?

I'm sure there are, but I wouldn't dare to install anything like that on my phone. Any type of open-source software on a phone can often request access to cameras, phone, contacts, etc., and while I have an android and can customize that, I still get leary over an application that may even try.

I'm also not very good with smartphones so I could just have tin foil over my head.

I don't use most browser extensions for similar reasons, I'm always concerned about open source coding and freeware.

Lapushka, I don't use ad blockers because I want to be able to support this website with ad revenue since I am not able to contribute money directly.

Neko, did you say there was a way to report ads that block content? The full page ads (that I typically get when switching between the forum and the blogs) are the ones that are the most cumbersome since I browse on my phone. I am only seeing options to report inappropriate or repetitive ads.
    Onwards.

OH! Those are full-screen ads! I was so confused - I thought I'd accidentally clicked on a picture but couldn't work out how, then I saw the teeny-tiny cross in the corner which made it twig what was going on. Heh.

I've been accessing the site mainly on my laptop over the last few days (on which I do use an ad-blocker) and I have to say, coming back to it on my tablet is a bit frustrating in comparison!

Yes, I know that some of you guys feel that way, but then... what's the point of complaining? I don't get that then honestly I don't.

And SEEING those ads in most cases doesn't do anything. You have to click on them at least for the site to get something out of it.

I don't use it, but my partner has ad block installed on her Firefox app on mobile. So there is a way, and a safe one at that. Apparently mobile Firefox supports plugins much like the desktop version.
I use adblock on the desktop version but I too have been bombarded with ads when visiting on mobile via Chrome. I've mostly just been ignoring it because I want to support the site but it is indeed very annoying.

    Edit:

Is that so? Guess I've been suffering for nothing!

The point of complaining is that the ads used to be just fine as they were, and now they're aggressive/intrusive.

Edit: and I don't use an ad blocker on my phone or tablet because it was nigh on impossible to find one that was wholly recommended, and when I did it then have me huge problems with connecting to wifi so I couldn't continue using it anyway.

Yes but if that's what the site now runs, then... I don't see why, still. I mean... you can't have it both ways.

I don't believe there is an ad-block extension for chrome on mobile. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong.
