Yes! I am 2a if shorter than shoulder length, but 1c if any longer than that.
Yes, if I do not keep it in layers (I don't think I will..) it gets more straight due to being weighed down. With layers though it is okay and keeps the waves.

Ok so yesterday’s wash I didn’t really do anything for styling (no scrunching, just put my hair in a turban and then finger combed into place) and I’ve gotta say it’s straighter than it was unstyled before. I don’t mind it though, it looks longer and thanks to the frizz it’s not flat straight but poofy straight (which is good because my face needs the volume lol).
So it’s kinda the best of both worlds - I can have my waves when I want to, and I can have straight-ish hair when I’m lazy![]()

Yup. I had 2c hair from chin to shoulder length, big spiral waves that some would call loose curls. Now at waist it mostly dries as 2a, and over the next day falls out to more of a 1c, straight with a subtle wave. I also think my hair gets curlier when it's damaged, because my 6 inches of virin growth is significantly straighter than the chemically colored portions.
In my old middle-aged years, I am going the total opposite!
My hair is at its waviest/curliest it's ever been. I use mousse + gel and my results are a full 3a lately. It depends on the particular mousse / gel combo that I used. Last night I used the Yari fruity mousse + "Kleber" (glue) gel by got2b, just a dab of it all over. It's a-ma-zing! I am not going back to straight; ever!
Yes, that is what I have been experiencing. At shoulder, I sometimes had actual curls, then from collarbone to around waist, 2a-2b waves, and now that I am approaching tailbone, we're looking at something closer to 2a. Like a few others have mentioned, I can still however get waves easily from bunning or braiding, and they stay in quite well.
pixie - chin - SL - CBL - APL - MBL - WL - HL - TBL - uncharted territory
Mine has a bit, especially at the ends. I'm growing out layers and got burnt out on doing a curly routine, so I no longer have the definition in my profile pic. I still kind of have the same texture, though -the kind that indicates you have wavy hair even if it isn't super wavy.
long hair is self care ♡

Mine definitely has! It'll be wavy when it's damp, and then end up totally straight after it dries and I comb it out. I do honestly miss my waves and have tried to revive them a little bit with wavy/curly haircare methods, but it's just too much of a hassle with the length![]()
Kelp, bubbles, and selkie hair troubles.
I have a pretty distinct body wave in my hair, especially when its wet, but I never noticed it until my hair was already quite long. I wonder sometimes if I were to cut it if I could style it with a little bit of a wave.

The longer my hair gets, especially at one length, the weight of it makes it go straight. Braids are what keep body in my hair.
