I agree with lapushka. They are created to be "safe" used as conditioner. Obviously you can use what you want in your hair, but be careful
I use my regular conditioner in a spray bottle with a good pour of argan oil, some interesting oil (tea tree, lemon myrtle, Australian mint, sandlewood, ect); mixed about 1:1 water to conditioner/oil. If my hair is having a dry week, I’ll spray it down while detangling and a couple of times during the week. If it feels ok, it might only need a light spray once during the week. It depends on how things feel day to day; and what I’m expecting from the week to come.
A week without washday usually calls for at least a few sprays between washes.

I used to leave some conditioner in when I rinsed my hair, and my hair retained length a lot. I think I need to revisit this

Some conditioners are better as a leave in that their intended use IMHO
Others have a weird "dry" feeling and Just make my hair feels like It has to be clarifyied.

I can second that When my hair was still long (bcl'isch) I used a shea moisture conditioner that didn't work well as a conditioner on my ends as leave in and it was better that way. I felt that it provided much more moisture to my hair.
The best conditioner I used as a leave-in was from OGX though - he served well both as conditioner and leave in. ^^

I do! If it’s not wash day and not single digit humidity, I find it works best after spritzing my hair with AVJ. The only orecautions I can think of are the preservatives Ylva mentioned earlier in the thread, and watch out for glycerin high up on the ingredient list if your hair is still sensitive to it.
My favorites for this are Live Clean argan oil restorative conditioner, and also their Superfruit conditioner for curly hair.
Classic stretched, bcl to tbl most days otherwise.Unruly mix of 3s.
I've used rinse out conditioner as a leave in, but when I do, I still rinse out some if it, just not thoroughly. I've also used hand lotion as a leave in on occasion, when I didn't have anything else. It worked surprisingly well!
I heard somewhere that some rinse out conditioners have a PH too low to be left in the hair safely, but I figure if you're applying it to wet hair, the water should raise the PH a little.
I always have to use something incredibly light as a leave in, and just on the ends, otherwise my already heavy hair just sticks to my head! The faith in nature works nicely, especially if I thin it out with a little water first.
