Thank you lapushka, and I like your clips too! I wish we had more variety in terms of color here, because I would definitely prefer those elegant pastel colors you got over my black. I also like the shape of yours, and they have such shapes here too, but I´m worried about hold - do they hold well? I think I need more long teeth in my claw clips, but as I said, those you got look so elegant.
(On another note, I don´t understand why there are different prices in euro for various EU countries. One would think it should be all the same, but no, in shops like Tedi, Kik, Pepco and others (that sell all kind of household items) we have to pay more for stuff than "richer" countries in the west. Why?)

Has anyone tried these "The Best Hair Clip" on Etsy? Looks like something that might work for me, maybe not this big one but two smaller ones to go over the sides of my bun potentially (which is how I wear most of my hairclips now). I definitely wouldn't mind being able to wear all my hair up in one clip again, but not betting on it.

    Paint them?

Those flower clips are super-cute; we have them in the U.S. too, though I've not bought any yet. I have some "decorative" clips like that, that would never hold my hair, but they're cute at the top of my braid. (In fact, I'd wear one today, but I have to do some driving for work today, and I'm afraid the clip would hit the seat headrest and annoy me.)

I like the look of the "side load" claw clips, and these look like they have some space to actually hold more than three strands of hair. I think they'd have to have a pretty strong spring, though...
Putting it in my signature because I have to say it so often:

I thought about painting them, but I don´t fancy using some bad-smelling paint or even a nail polish, and since it´s smooth plastic, the paint would probably start falling off, so no thanks.
I have seen many ponytails and braids secured by those flower clips in stead of an elastic, but my hair is not thick enough I use them for a log roll - although these clips are not very large/long, they have a big inside space/pocket, so they will hold more hair than one would think.

Mochichichi, I have something very similar like that from the Aliexpress, it is called something like "duckbill hair claw clip" there and they have also this style you found on etsy, only cheaper, of course. Here are pictures of my clips:

They are 9-11 cm long. Yes, the spring is strong (a little more that a regular claw clip), but if you have more hair than fits into the clip, the clip won´t close completely - it is not that strong.
There are two issues I have with them: the curved bottom part does not copy the shape of the head exactly, so it is sometimes uncomfortable to wear, as it exerts pressure on my scalp (in those two opposite side points). I have not tried wearing them vertically, only horizontally, but I imagine that wearing them vertically would be even worse. Secondly, it really matters what bun you wear with this clip - I can only do a log roll (because I haven´t tried anything else), you know how that looks - one big blop up and one big blop down and a narrower part in the middle between where you put the clip - and when I insert this duckbill clip in the middle horizontally, it isn´t really holding the upper blop well - it tends to tip and tilt backwards, away from the scalp, over the clip and then it pulls on the scalp. (I apologize if I´m not making sense, I am not good at describing in English.) Like this:

You know what? We were there, at Zeeman. I bought these like... a month ago, and these are my back-ups because I have a set in use! I was smart about it too, buying a back-up set, I know these stores; because a month later? They're *gone* from the shelves! Gone as in, they do not sell them anymore!

I've not used any of my claw clips on the end of a braid because they're a bit big and bulky for that, and I'd be afraid they'd fall off as my hair swung around. Plus would be reeeeeally uncomfortable if my hair got caught behind me while sitting!
