    Thanks, SandyBottom

I haven't been able to pinpoint any one reason. I have lost a good bit of weight this year but it was very gradual and because of healthier lifestyle changes - one of which being my new job/training program which is challenging but I wouldn't say stressful. I don't oil my scalp, just the ends. Never had COVID, but I did get a little cold a week or two ago but that was after the shedding began.

It's a mystery, but that dermatologist appointment is tomorrow and I'm going to keep my spirits up

Good news for me! This week I discovered that the regrowth has reached enough length that I can again use my regular hairsticks! It's been a long time coming... my hairloss started in spring of 2021 and went on for quite a while.

Congrats! Did you figure out the cause, and if so, what helped to ameliorate the loss?

I was very sick after Christmas2020/NewYear2021 and waited a couple months to get my Covid vax because I'd been so sick (not covid, but a terrible sinus infection). After I had the Covid vax and spring started, I lost about 1/3 to 1/2 my thickness. Every day, the brush was full of shed hair. There wasn't enough long hair left to use the sticks in any bun other than a topknot... everything else just slipped away and the stick fell out.

Now I can make a bun a the back of my head and a single stick will hold it all day long. Again. Finally! It's not a big bun, but it has enough body to hold a stick.

My hair is thinnish anyway, and my sticks are not thick or heavy at all, mostly MeiFa (no longer made).

embee, that sounds great! Sorry you got sick, though!

I am regrowing my hair just fine. No more breakage for me ever since giving up the bun (my fault I bunned wrong, too tightly). I lose a considerable amount less hair on washday as well.
WCC method (washing) --- Rinse-out oil (MO) --- LOC/LCO method (styling)

Sorry to read this. Hope it will settle down soon. Mine took some months to stop, I was kinda scared for a while, but there was nothing I could do about it.... it was what it was.

Yes, sheds in my experience can easily span 3 or 4 months but eventually, so far, subside

I thought I was off the hook for a COVID shed since it's been a little over 3 months since getting better, but...the past few days my brush is saying "It ain't over till it's over." Oh well, at least I'm healthy.
