Yep! Just what the title says. I already have hair down to my tailbone but I am chopping all of my dyed hair off which will leave me with ball hair which i've not had since I started lurking! I don't want to chop but it is a necessary evil!

Maybe you could do a smaller chop first? You can't fix the damage but you can get rid of it more slowly, and take measures to prevent further damage.

I would read Nightshade's article on salvaging damaged hair first before chopping it all off. Often it is not necessary at all, and you can baby the damaged hair back to health while slowly microtrimming.

And Lapushka is totally right, chopping may not be necessary. There are quite a few of us in here that are growing out bleach/dye damage with success.
