Telogen Effluvium Regrowth
Hello,
I am new to this forum and I have a question!!!
I suffered telogen effluvium last year due to severe weight loss, stress and going vegetarian.
I have now regained the weight I have lost thankfully and recovered in other ways too!
My hair has thickened up over the last year luckily and definitely is not as bad as it once was!
I was wondering if there was anyone who had also suffered this sort of hair loss and have regrown all of their hair!
How long did that take?
I know hair takes a while to grow so I am guessing all the new regrowth I see will eventually grow longer.
It just has been such a painful process and long wait!
Thank you!

Re: Telogen Effluvium Regrowth
I was 13/14 when I lost a lot of hair due to THE hormonal shift (up to bald patches). Doctor said nothing could be done. My mom bought me lotions and vitamins but more as a small band aid on a gaping wound than anything else. It took 2 years to grow back in as thick as before and it also grew in 2b/c instead of 1b/c, I had a texture change to boot.
I am now 45 so menopause is not far away. I'm hoping I'm not going to go through something like this again.
If it is due to eating too little / losing too much weight, then it can and absolutely will grow back when things are back to normal. Trust me!
When I was 17 I bordered on anorexia for 6 months and lost 1/3 of my hair thickness and also my period for 3 months. My mom said you either shape up or I am taking you to the doctor. I shaped up, but -again- it took about 2 years for my hair to grow back. As soon as things are back to the norm, hair grows back as usual.
