I now own two ficcares and several flexi clips and I don't wear any of them because they are uncomfortable. they pull my scalp hair even though they grip my hair snuggly and are the right size. Despite being curly, my hair is slippery/silky and they always end up slipping and pulling my scalp after a while. I get along much better with claw clips. I love them! I plan on getting some more soon, since I keep reaching for the few I have over and over. They keep me from needing to use elastics and bobby pins. I REALLY like those wood look ones from Claire's! I hope they still have them!

I always use smaller claw clips (3) and one big one to clip my hair up after washing (curly girl method style). Love that. And I also wore a claw clip all the way from APL to waist/hip. I couldn't do a bun before that due to my iii hair. I was happy with that claw clip! But I wouldn't give up my buns (with a fork) for any clip now. Forks, I find, far more comfortable on my scalp (due to the weight of the hair right now at longer lengths).
WCC method (washing) --- Rinse-out oil (MO) --- LOC/LCO method (styling)

If they don't ...let me know; I have a couple duplicates I could share

All my claws are still loved and used fairly often....for half ups and twists.

My octopus are my 'go to toys' when freshening up my face, brushing teeth etc., and on days my hair refuses to behave with sticks or forks.

I never think to use claws to secure my cinnamon buns, but I will try to remember...especially using the smaller ones.

I find my flexis and ficcares hold best with my LWB's; my hair is too slippery to use them for other styles.

It's really hard to find XL+ claws for my super thick hair. I had broken my last one (it just kind of gave up and fell out of my hair) and it took me several months to find a new one. I bought two just to be safe. They aren't the cutest ones I have owned, but they do the job!

I like claws, they hold my hair really well and do not damage it in any way. Most of my claws are from Stonebridge in England. They are like the France Luxe ones. Really strong and hair friendly. I love themx

In another thread I read advice to avoid claw clips as they damage hair. They're my go-to so I'm glad to read they do seem to be accepted! I do have pretty delicate fine hair, but I think one or two who already posted do too. I figured out that I can wrap a bun around a clip and actually have a decent-sized bun!

I love the Goody brand, they almost never break no matter how often they fall on a tile floor. I tried Scunchi once, and most broke in the first week. The silicone lining on some is great for my slippery hair, but some of the silicone got weird, I suspect from using them in the shower with my previous silicone conditioner.

    Welcome to LHC

I have fine silver and there has been no damage after years of using them for lots of styles!

Wrapping as you mentioned is a great idea (I have seen that).
I must remember you can use them for center held buns as well!
If my hair is misbehaving, I have used large claws right over LWB and cinnamon buns (I have puny buns on some sleek/slippery days lol)
    Thanks for the reminder
    Enjoy the forum

    Welcome to the boards, hairandtherian!
Yes, I think Goody is awesome, too! JJJLongHair routinely uses them in her video tutorials, even on floor-length hair. Arc691 also regularly posts a lot of different complex and inspiring updos featuring claw-clips: http://691superlonghair.blogspot.ca/, it's amazing how many ways and styles are possible!

I'm a big fan of claw-clips, I love that they are affordable and can actually be found locally!
I like Goody's half-moon 9-tine claws the best: so sturdy and comfy. And they are the only ones that didn't break on me, and I find many claw-clips in much bigger size than those claws still snap very easily, maybe because the type of plastic is softer or weaker? Something to do with the quality of material and spring... They are certainly not all made equally well...
Also, I have a silly question, sorry : are "claw-clips" the same thing as "jaw-clips"? (When I google images, I often see the same photos, but I can never tell with how those images pop up...)
