Twist up the top, if there is enough hair. (Use a bunch of product--gel or hairspray--, if your hair is slippy like mine!)
Growing out a pixie isn't for babies!
Have a snoop though my growth album. I have pictures of my hair down in there, and grew without trimming for 10 months, then had it evened up. I've trimmed it myself ever since.
If you can manage to twist the top back from your face, no one can tell what a hot mess it is. I wore the top "up" for many months, because I wanted to grow it out quickly, and it didn't bother me to put it up. Some people like to wear their hair down, and that's fine, but you'll need more frequent haircuts to keep it looking good.
FWIW: Emma Watson and I started growing at about the same time. I'm WAY ahead of her now, but she has to look classy all the time, and has had lots of trims. (I imagine a jaw clip on the top of the head isn't appropriate for Hollywood starlets? )
