My sister wasn't cooperating so I couldn't get a good picture of it dry...Maybe next time. -___-

It just BARELY touches waist wet. When it's totally wet and straight, even more so. Dry? Still more BSL. lol
You have lovely hair longforthis. Give it a little more time and you can be in the solid phase of "can I call this waist." Still it is very exciting for your hairs to start creeping and touching your waist. Thanks for sharing!

I'm actually aiming for hip but since waist comes before hip and I'm MBL (I think, MBL is for those past BSL right? There really should be a sticky on abbreviations - this doesn't work for me)... Hi! I'm joining you guys on the quest to waist! Anyone else feel like this is a length that is so close yet so far? Cos I do, and it absolutely frustrates me to no end.

WOW! I am at BSL! Holy moly..I thought I would be in super shorties forever lol...next thing I know I'm far past APL, and actually when stretched I'm passed just past my BSL. Yay, I'm happy. Going to do a trim next month for my 2 year growing out Hairiversary. No trims and no cuts (other than s&d), so I really need to trim to keep it free from splits. Now that it is BSL I am noticing more damage, luckily it is only that bottom 1/4".

    Everyone's hair looks great, btw!

Welcome! Congrats for making BSL. I'm happy that there are some of us in here that are just at BSL. It seemed like every one in here was already in the mid back abyss.
I also started in the "super shorties thread," which I thought was the most challenging thread ever!!!! (I don't think I want to ever relive that though).
I've been so paranoid about damage lately that I've been wearing my hair in a bun everyday. I am starting to notice that my ends are starting to feel more dry than the rest of my hair. I've been trying to add silk drops on my ends in conjunction to my coconut oiling...but I have to give it more time to do a review. Le sigh...

    Thanks rowie!

Yea super shorties was painful for me too lol. I thought I was doing a great job avoiding damage this whole time, and it was like as soon as I got to BSL I've quite a few splits, white dots and my ends are feeling icky and dry. I'm currently looking for some hair cutting sheers so I can do a self trim.

My very first goal from when I was at pixie length was to wait to trim my hair until I could do it myself! And here I am
Anyone recommend some good sheers to buy? I wouldn't mind spending the right amount on a good pair of scissors.

I'm at waist now (!!!) and about to go for a trim. The ends are a bit too poor to keep going for a few months and then cut back to waist as I originally intended. So I've got a couple of months left in here, if they listen to my request and trim off no more than an inch (and I dearly hope they do). Plus, I'd like to blend what remains of my bangs in a bit better, especially since I don't intend on trimming again before I move to San Francisco, and then because that city is expensive, it may be a while before I trim there, either.

So, while I'd like to finally make it out of the BSL-waist abyssal plains, I like knowing the end is in sight. And healthy ends with slightly less length sound a lot better to me than anything else right now. Plus, the reduced tangles will be so very nice. I made it here from a pixie cut in around three and a half years, I can wait a couple months.

Crazy.. I FINALLY had someone to take my photo. It was my mum's cell phone and the pic isnt that great. Actually my hair is really silky but in this photo it looks.. wiry It also looks like it's sorta at the waist.. could it be I've not only failed to notice my hair getting coarse but also longer

Or then it's the fact I just had washed it with clarifying..

Anyways... big thumbs up for everyone here

That is way past waist, almost hip, IMO.
