    Default Sulfates or more natural?

Are you sulfates, CO, sulfate-free, sulfate-mild... cheese? Tell us. Also if you have used one or the other, or are using both, tell us. An explanation is always nice.

I hope I gave you enough options! It's not about methods as such, it's more about the product that touches the scalp! That's how I viewed it.

Darn I can no longer figure out how to add a poll to this message. Can someone help?

    I found it, thanks everyone!!!

I voted for sulfate-mild (love that option lol). Ideally I would use sulfate-free products most of the time but clarify regularly with sulfate shampoo. I'm not avoiding sulfates because I would be afraid of "chemicals" but because my hair just feels better when I use sulfate-free stuff.

I picked sulfate-free and CO-washing. Sulfates don’t play nicely with my skin and hair. As in they cause eczema to flare up on my hands and scalp, and cause dryness and breakage in my already dry hair. No sulfates for me, thanks!

I also picked cheese just because

As I am currently incorporating a silicone serum (dimethicone) into my haircare routine and oiling quite happily, I am enjoying using sulfates (SLES and SCS). I have found a good few sulfate shampoos that leave my hair very soft and not stripped.

    Sulfate free and CO-wash.

My hair and scalp really doesn't like sulfates or cones, so I quit them six years ago and haven't touched any of them even once since. I also use a lot of "natural" stuff as herbal rinses, homemade gels and lots of oils (favorite oils are from Nightblooming) in my hair.

Do you still count as sulfate-free if you regularly use a clarifying shampoo? If so, then I'm sulfate-free/CO wash. They fade color and are too harsh for my scalp; I used to have a problem with flakies but it went away when I stopped using sulfates regularly.

ETA: I wouldn't say I'm "more natural" though, I still use conventional products.

SLES is milder, I've been under that impression. I tried to go more natural but my scalp disagreed this winter, I got seborrhea type symptoms. Maybe I'll try if I can use up my sulfate frees next summer.

I’m no sulfate and silicone free.
I use shampoo bars, natural/organic conditioner etc.

Just mark sulfate-free and sulfates as you do use them to clarify and CO. It is multiple choice for a reason.
