Default Your favourite hair stick shape

Tell me about your favourite hair stick shapes!

If I missed a category, please choose other and describe below!

Some examples of what I was thinking for the categories:

    1. Straight and simple (self explanatory, in my opinion TT's also fit into here)
    2. A little wave. ie Ketylo
    3. Spiral (CMW spirals, larks curly Q, ReDoodle)
    4. Oval (more specific name for an ONN design)
    5. Icicles (Again, more of a specific Lady Idun design)
    6. Turned sticks (of any maker)
    7. Irregular/bumpy (bumps in shaft, different from waves)
    8. Other (describe below!)

I love ONNs turned and oval sticks

Rich does such a great job

The ovals are just a perfect size to snuggle into a bun, and his turned sticks have an optional bump that anchors them.

For a long time I passed on acrylics thinking they would slip.... but I was so wrong....and the collection began

If I could like this post, I would

    .

For me, I like regular straight sticks only if they're paired, TT's being the exception. I do like my wavies and spirals too. I always try and combine 6 and 7, turned with some speed bumps, that's probably my winner as it's what I reach for most often.

Never tried ovals or icicles personally.

The ovals are essentially 2 singles....but I find they hold better than 2 singles.....those SLIP out of my hair and I never grab for them.

Thankfully I only had a few sets.... and I actually gifted 1 stick from each set along the way lol

The only pair I kept was my teal CMW thin spirals; her thicker spirals are keepers too (I have 3)

But Rich has my heart with his sticks

Spirals for me. I like the double-sided ones that utilize color in interesting ways. And they hold like nothing else for me. No matter how loose or windswept the bun, spirals hold it. They're little workhorses

(Ovals are my second choice. Awesome to pair with leather flexis and I love getting to see the pattern of the acrylic so clearly.)

    I have to choose?

    But... I can't.

I love them all as they're used for different things, even in different sizes (thicknesses) and lengths from under 5" to 8".

Faves for hold on their own are WEII bumpies (with toppers as well as pixies) and CMW spirals. For blingy elegance I love TTs. Ovals are good fatties for showing off their material. Icicles are cool (yeah, that was a given). Turned sticks often have a good head on them that work as stoppers as well as showing off the material. And straight and simple sticks, including pixies, are great for using with leather flexi 8s while also working well with my busy hair. Ooooh, and I only have one Ketylo type stick, and it holds like a rock and looks like one, too.

*goes to tick all the choices*

However... The only sticks that don't work all that well for me are curved sticks. Moons, claws... I can get them to work, but they're a bit hit and miss, and I much prefer a hit every time.

Still got my ovals on its way to me, but I love them aesthetically so much. My hair isn't slippery and almost anything works, so I'm sure they'll be beyond perfect. I'm also fond of TT, esp in the PE shape, and simple straight sticks in general. Turned sticks are lovely, but in general I prefer ovals/TT over them. Spirals, etc haven't catch my attention just yet

I have to admit I wear my plain Ravenslair titanium & aluminum + Quattro 2 prongs (some decorated) the most of all of my forks. Sticks I venture into on special occasions.

I have an icicle by Lady Idun, and a wavy/bumpy design by them too (black/blue).

I love them all. All the sticks.

I also have these ring-designs by amadlife0 back in the day; they are pretty too.

And I have one Ketylo fork that I cherish, and some wavy designs by... oh God what was that maker called? It was quite a popular one too, and he did all sorts of Dymondwood designs, yep papadonh!

My favorite sticks are my own squiggly/wavy flat sticks. They put no pressure on the scalp and hold very well.
I have decorated some of these with stencils and spray in silver since this photo and added about 10 more to the stash.
