When you cousin who has 1a SL hair tries to tells you how to "properly" take care your your hair. This of course consists of a thorough shampoo and condition each morning, followed by blow drying and straightening. I didn't have the heart to tell her the I don't even own a hair dryer... just smile and nod, boys.
May be she is not 1a after all if she needs blow drier and straightener to maintain her hair. A lot of people with wurly texture hadn't recognized it except when they grew their hair longer.

I'm currently using LOC after shampoo/condition. More information here: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...d.php?t=118167
Has anyone used this method to bring out waves or *gasp!* help straighten hair while drying it? Usually, if I want my hair to dry fairly straight, I would damp bun it overnight and then let it air dry the next day. Now, damp bunning helps enhance the curls (I got CURLS!) when I LOC.
I use Shea Moisture JBCO leave-in (strengthen and grow leave-in), coconut oil and Sally Beauty's GVP knock-off of the SM Coconut/Hibuscus Curling & Style Milk when I LOC. I LOVE the way my hair feels when I use this combo, but I'm wondering if I can get a straighter look using this method, just as a change in style. Ideas?
ETA: Well, got an answer to my last question this morning! It appears that the texture of my hair dry, after I damp bun it the night before, depends on which bun I use. Go figure...
