Default Got security warning message about LHC today

I have LHC bookmarked on my Mozilla Firefox browser and when I clicked on the bookmark today, it displayed this message:

    Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead

Firefox detected an issue and did not continue to forums.longhaircommunity.com. The website is either misconfigured or your computer clock is set to the wrong time.

It’s likely the website’s certificate is expired, which prevents Firefox from connecting securely. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

I continued anyway, it said that the security certificate of the LHC page expired on 24st September 2023.

What does this mean? Is it safe to keep using the forum or not?

On my iPad, I got a “this connection is not private” warning on both Safari and Brave today. No issues yesterday or before. I’m not an expert in this area, and someone more experienced will likely chime in soon, but I’m at least not worried about using the site despite this.

I got an expired security thingy. Firefox warned me to go ahead as there was a potential security risk. Isn't this the "age-old" debate about expired licenses and stuff? That the security certificate isn't up to date or hasn't been updated, or... Yeah, Firefox hardly warns me... but it did.

I think this happens every September, doesn't it?

I logged in anyway. No-one can steal money from a LHC account.

According to these browsers, if you forget to renew your certificate on your domain, you're an awful person and nobody should visit your website

For some sites, I go: yeah, but I figure I can trust this site, no?

The weakness is that the site may not be the real LHC if the domain had been hijacked. The phony site could steal passwords and information that the user entered.

I am 100% confident this is the real LHC.

Site owner has been contacted. Should be an easy one to resolve.

Is that something the real Ed would say?
