I chose everything, brilliant poll btw! My Carrington hair fantasy is still uno nuno because I live a Walter Mitty life, but I also want to cloak myself with my hair when I'm nudiebird and I have major mermaid ideation and some peeps assume Black curlies only grow TBL and beyond in locs never loose and I sometimes imagine I'm a bear so I would appreciate the extra warmth and my great-grammy had insane-o long silver hair and I'm totes into big juicy buns and it is a big accomplishment and long hair makes me feel coquette even in a frumpy hoodie and PJs!

I like options for updos, which wasn't listed. As my hair has gotten longer, so has the list of things I can do with my hair. Also, I do historical recreation events and like having hair long enough that I never have to resort to a wig to look the part.

Can't vote because none of it all applies to me. I wear it long for practical reasons, because it is just easier to take care of than shorter hair which has to be washed more and styled all the time.

I chose lots of them but for me I suppose it's kind of out of defiance, to prove that I can and to find out who I am apart from cultural expectations. To me that means not even taking those expectations into account. I do what I choose to do with my body and that's the way it is. I guess it's my way of taking back what is mine, but that's a whole other story. I won't bog down this thread with melancholy thoughts. It's too awesome a poll for that.

My main reason is to have my hair as it naturally grows, unaltered. I have done a lot of damage to it, and as fun as it was, I'm never happier than when I know something is in its natural state. I'm a hippie! Lots of sub-reasons here though.

I really want to become (or now enjoy being) an old woman with long, flowing silver/white hair

I want to look like I stepped out of a Tolkien novel. I also love the feel/look of it flowing out behind me when I walk. Also, I think it's super feminine and biblically, a "crowing glory".

Hah, I just remembered this. As a teenager I grew my hair from pixie to shoulder for a role in a movie of my friends. We planned the thing so long that had time to grow my hair. It was a male character so shoulder counts as long.
