Ive been tempted to get one because I’ve seen people raving about them, but I’m not sure what difference they make??

From watching YT curlies using it (and trying it myself), it provides more definition when you brush the product through your hair and do a slight half turn at the end. The curls just bounce back fully coated and in ringlets. It kinda encourages the strands to curl and for the curls to look more uniform. However when I tried this I was experiencing a good deal more shrinkage than usual and since I am not about encouraging more shrinkage than my hair natural wants I decided its not for me. I will take a little more "wild" curls and longer length than perfectly defined curls and less length.

Try watching a few YT vids on them in wash n gos particularly. If you go through wet hair when styling, it clumps your curls, particularly at the very ends - it gives nice results.

I would use it, but it tugs at my scalp like no other, and I just... can't.

So here is my second day hair after using a Denman brush and Jessicurl's Rockin Ringlets and Confident Coils. Today I refreshed with a little water and some of JC Gelebration spray.

It seems that using the Denman brush really does help with clumping and definition. Like BerrySara said, the shrinkage is terrible if you want to see your length.

Beautiful, and i;m shocked that this brush kept your hair clumped like this, any other brush and all these beautiful curls would have been destroyed.

How can I control my life when I can't even control my hair!

I don't mind shrinkage either. Well, as long as my curls look good

Thanks! And right? I think the key is using it on soaking wet hair because otherwise my hair would look trashed.

ExpectoPatronum! You have inspired me to do some more Denman brush research. Those curls are fantastic!

Thanks! There's a little bit of a learning curve but once you find the right technique I find it really makes a difference!

My curls take a lot more to manage the longer I get, but my hair as whole is more manageable because it loses some of the crazy frizziness that comes with short curls. I have to say though I love having 'big' so growing out my curls have been a bit of an adjustment now that I have to tie it up more and can't just wake up and have bed hair that still looks acceptable for work 😂 I only get good second day hair if my first day cooperates now.
