I love your curls. I went to a fair the other day and saw hair very similar to yours. I have slightly wavy hair but it curls very easily. It inspired me to curl my hair, naturally of course and I love it even though it looks so much shorter. It's such a change and I love that.

I went to the local renaissance festival yesterday (fun day out with the fella) and had the braiding lady braid my hair for me. (My own braiding efforts are pretty limited.) While there is a fair amount of product (gel, spray, pins, etc.) involved, the style was very comfortable, braided with extremely even and gentle tension, and held up well all day, well worth the $27.00 I paid for it. Pretty sure it's a five strand dutch on both sides to a bun in the back. (I picked it by picture, not by word description.) Also, it came out easily and without hair breakage.

$27 is a lot by itself, IMMHO, but if you need to go to a wedding or a nice event, or party, those braiding skills would come in handy. Pretty!

So this is the first day of my challenge to wear hair up for a month (just a month yet, later i might expand the time limit) and my weird and messy peacock twist. And i also hennaed for the third time the day before yesterday

I made some progress photos yesterday. They are old photos, but they show what my hair has been doing since I started growing it:




I haven't made 2012 yet because I only have two photos from then, and they were cropped at slightly different angles so they look like the same length even though it grew a little. I was pretty much at waist then and am still at waist now, so not much of a change except I'm blonder now.

Early this morning, I put a French twist in my hair before wrapping one of my scarves over my head and I just took off my scarf to this:

I loooove my hair the day after wash day. Everything holds tight and better and is shiny and smells the best.
Also, are those small comb thingys hair friendly?
