This is how it looks on my phone. I've circled the bold option.
I always want to bold people's usernames when referencing them in posts, but when I'm on my phone I don't know how?
Finally finished growing out natural colour!

You can do *this*, it's the same. If you do *this* in the YT comments, it bolds the text for you.
Or you could just type [ B ] [ / B ] without the spaces and then put your text in the middle c:

Thanks guys
*lithostoic* unfortunately LHC on my phone doesn't look like that, that's how it looks on my computer but my phone doesn't seem to have the bold option, even if I click 'go advanced'. I'll try the brackets now
*lapushka* I have tried your ** suggestion in this post, let's see if it works
ETA lithostoic your suggestion worked, thank you!
I highly recommend switching to the desktop version of the site, even on your phone. The mobile version drives me nuts.

Yeah, I use the desktop version of the site on my phone as well. It scales just fine, my only problem with it is because I would probably spend more time fixing autocorrect than typing my message, it's a pain to reply. So I read, and if I see something that requires more than a brief reply, I leave myself a note saying to reply to it later.

Ah okay, I hadn't even considered using the full site on my phone, thanks guys

I almost always use the mobile version on my phone because my phone is old and glitchy and tends to wig out when I use the desktop site. So I type my own formatting code a lot. It's called bbcode, and it's pretty easy to learn; you can use it to bolden, italicize, and underline text, change colors, add images and URLs, and all sorts of stuff. You can read about it here and here.
