After my hospital stay I too had that glue on my hair and skin. I used coconut oil and let it sit for a few day and gently worked it out. Good luck![]()
I recently underwent an EEG, and some of the medical glue hasn't washed out yet.
I've tried a usual shampoo, a chelating shampoo, my usual conditioner (which I left on for a few hours before washing out), and a bit of acetone-free nail polish remover. Nothing seems to have helped (although I do believe some of the glue washed out, but I did about 6 washes).
Any ideas?![]()

My husband says try rubbing alcohol (he works in the ER and has used the stuff). He also says it will not stick to oily skin, so that gives me the idea of trying some sort of oil. Hope you can get it out! That would not be fun.
If none of the above work, try peanut butter, then wash out the peanut butter. It takes out bubble gum!
OH no! I have EEG wires on my head regularly but they must use a different sort of glue for me. It's a gel that gums up my hair but is water soluable.
I'd try heavily oiling it up and see if that helps...
If it's actual medical glue, like what is used in place of sutures - it's super glue. Get straight acetone to break the glue down.
I don't believe it's superglue; Mr. Amapola indicated this is different stuff they use for the procedure that she had.
Although of course they do use a medical type superglue for suturing tiny areas. If you use actual superglue if you have cut open your arm and are unwilling to go to the doctor for genuine stitches, it really stings. Ask me how I know.![]()
I would also recommend acetone, applied only to the glue itself. This is how my stylist removed my keratin tipped extensions and there was no damage afterward.
Thank you all for the suggestions! I'll try them out.
