Double braided bun
Double cinnamon bun
Cameo bun
Double rope bun
Triple braid bun
I've been reading a couple of threads that have mentioned arranging your hair so that there is proper weight distribution. This got me to thinking about updos that would fit into this category. Which updos are good for weight distribution?
Double braided bun
Double cinnamon bun
Cameo bun
Double rope bun
Triple braid bun
^agreeing to all above
crown braids (and similar styles)
Double french braids into bun.
spiral braid
Also, torrin did a video on youtube about elizabethan hair taping. Thats a good one for weight distribution
ETA: (Also, I find a nice big fat french beavertail into a bun is great, but takes a lot of practice to look decent)

Tigereye, when you mentioned "Also, torrin did a video on youtube about elizabethan hair taping. Thats a good one for weight distribution" I got rather excited. I have been a bit nutty for Renaissance Festivals for the last several years and have only recently seen this on a few participants. I will hunt up the vid and give it a try, tho at APL, I don't know if I can do it.
Thanks for sharing
I found these links that were helpful for me, maybe they might be helpful for someone else...

No, I'd say for a decent bun on any of those, waist length would be the preferred length.
You might, emphasis on might, be able to get away with a two braid bun with bra length hair, but that is a big if.
A crown braid would be the ideal solution if you wanted to distribute your hair's weight comfortably.
CarpeDM, I just remembered this one:
What you do is French braid down the center of your head. Then band the hair at the nape.
Comb out the hair so that it is tangle free and divide in two sections.
Loosely braid both sections and tie off the ends.
Undo the band at the nape.
Take one of the braids and bring it up and to the Right around the French braid, pinning as you go.
Do the same with the other braid, bring it up and to the LEFT around the French braid.
If you find that your braids won't reach, what you could do is partially French braid down the back of your head, then band all the hair. Section it in two parts and braid each section, then proceed as above.
The key to getting the braids to cooperate is to not braid too tightly. If they're too tight, it doesn't give you enough flexibility when going around the middle French braid.
