Zig-zag out. I don't know, it just makes sense to me to have the flat bit against the scalp. I've actually never considered that someone would use them the other way around.
Zig-zag in
Zig-zag out
I've always used bobby pins with the zig-zag side closest to my scalp, and the flat side facing out. I always thought that's how it was supposed to be... Then today I saw a woman with the zig-zag side facing out, and now I'm questioning my whole reality.
How do you use them?
Zig-zag out. I don't know, it just makes sense to me to have the flat bit against the scalp. I've actually never considered that someone would use them the other way around.
I've always used them zig zag out. Not entirely sure why, but I think it's because it seems to me that the zigged part would catch on my hair if I used it the other way. Not at all logical, but there you go!
I use them zig zag out just to hold bangs and clumps of my shortie pieces my hair is really slippery and fine so I don't want to use the zig zag in my hair. I would use them zig zag in for buns and such when I did dance years ago. I could also see curlies using them zig zag in, seems like it would catch the hair and hold it better?

I seem to remember a professional hair stylist in a video tutorial saying that the "proper" way was zig-zag in. But I have always used them zig-zag out. They don't slide into my hair as smoothly the other way.
Zig zag out because they are easier to open that way.

Mine do not have any zig zags
Zig-zag out. I feel like they wouldn't slide in easily and stay put otherwise.
i can't figure them out!
I've always used them zig zag out. I just makes more sense to me: you can get them closer to your scalp that way.
Wavy and loving it!
