Greetings from a semi-former lurker?

Uhm, I've been browsing through threads for a bit over a month and I've decided it's time to introduce myself? And yes, I am highly nervous about it; even with everyone seeming so friendly.
I found this site ages ago but I never bothered with signing up, then I signed up but put off saying hello... mostly because I don't know how. Uhm.

My hair is long to begin with, just shy of waist length, but I adore long hair and I'd do just about anything to have at least classic length. I've always had problems in keeping it healthy and I've been freaking out with all the shedding I've been doing lately (though it could be related to winter) but thanks to the information I've been able to find on this site I think (I hope!) that I'll be able to break away from my unhealthier hair habits and find delight in my hair's new-found health and (hopefully) added length.
