has anyone heard of Amole Shampoo?

I was given the rec to buy this shampoo for faster growth and thickness but i've never heard about it. it's called Amole and it is supposed to come in small balls like meatballs, you put 2 balls in a litre of water and let them soak until disolved then you use it as shampoo. i was told i could find it at any herbal/nature store.

if anyone has used it please share your experience and where to buy it please.

I have never used it but I do know that Amole is just one of several varieties known as "soap plant" or Soaproot". If you try it, let us know how it is!

ETA: Googled it and the purple amole, which is the only one with amole in the common name, is an endangered species.

Thank you, i will try to find soap plant or soap root instead of amole shampoo. the person at the nature store looked at me like i was speaking another language when i asked if she had any amole shampoo.

Amole is the mayan word for herbal soap, and it stuck in Mexican Spanish. Soap nuts are "amole de bolita", as there are other amoles (mostly roots). My trusty herb guys at the farmers market don't recommend using the other amoles for the hair, so I'm waiting until mid march for amole de bolita (soap nut) season, for they are out of soap nuts.

In other spanish speaking countries soap nuts are known as chololoque or jaboncillo.

I live on a Navajo reservation, and a lot of us use amole. It is very natural and will leave your hair soft and shiny. I do love it.

Yes! There is a product from here that I just got and I really like it so far, made by Rio Grande Herbal Company called Negrita & Amole deep treatment concentrate. It's about $14.99 for 16 oz. and is the consistency of aloe vera gel. It's meant to be applied to the roots 10 - 15 minutes before washing. There's no foaming to speak of but it definitely cleanses your scalp. I really quite like it and do not anticipate returning to normal detergent like shampoos.

Yerba Hair Care that i get from Taos Herb contains yucca which i believe is amole. I love the concentrate for growth. the shampoo is gentle but cleanses very well. the conditioner is good as well, but it does have a small amount of silicones for those avoiding...
