Default How to clean a wooden comb?

Is it okay to wash it with soap and water? Mine kinda stinks... I think it's because of the oil I put on my hair... it's not visibly dirty, but just smells bad.

    TIA

I don't clean mines. I thought oil was good for it... mines kinda absorbs any oil that gets on it (Body Shop one)

I clean mine with sulphate shampoo and hot water when it gets too sebum-y. I scrub it with a nail brush, but perhaps a little too enthusiastically, as the varnish isn't faring so well. It does get it clean though.

I take a needle and scarpe off the ickyness (with the shaft, not the point). It's getting rid of the worst, but not fully cleaning. :/ (Bodyshop wooden comb)

I didn't know wooden combs could get stinky from oil.

Me neither, but apparently herb oils can make them smell.
