Tentatively putting this picture here and hoping that is ok. It's nothing remarkable, but the first bun picture I have uploaded, while doing my 'how clean does my hair look' experiment in my blog. I like how shiny and smooth it looks (for my hair anyway ) and how the nape hair is just about staying up in there! It's held with one spin pin.

Every time I figure out a bun that I really like, I seem to immediately forget how I did it. No idea how to recreate this, but I love how it turned out.
Please excuse the fuzziness, my hair has hidden all my brushes and combs, so I've had to resort to fingercombing since wednesday and I'm not very good at it.
How could I have missed this thread?? *subscribed* I'm going to have to take a look at all your gorgeous buns!!
I'll gladly join, and hopefully all this inspiration will make me try new buns!
This is the first pic I've found, so here goes. This was how I wore my hair for a Baroque chamber music concert in Austria this past Summer. A variation of the Chinese bun, what I call the 'one-coil Chinese bun', because you don't part the ponytail hair before coiling it around the stick, with an accent braid added.
Schweedie: That looks awesome!!!
SWR: Very pretty! And that stick looks cool!

Thank you ! Your braided bun's gorgeous, Meisha! Did you braid some ribbon/green string into it, too?
I tried to use two pieces of yarn, but they didn't show up that well, haha.
Thank you!

Schweedie that looks similar to my flipped bun! Only NICER!

Thanks, ladies! Lippytoes, it was actually surprisingly comfortable. Held with spin pins it's more comfortable than when held with a fork, definitely. Although the ends managed to work their way out of the bun after a while, so I ended up taking it down anyway. *g*
SwordWomanRiona, your hair is so shiny.
meishkamooshka, that looks awesome! That's exactly what my Dutch-braid-into-bun styles aspire to be, but they never manage to.
WaitingSoLong, pfft, your flipped cinnabun looked great! And yeah, kinda similar to mine - I guess because we have the same hairtype, we get a similar looking bun!
