Default Which Manic Panic colors would show without bleaching?

I have medium-dark brown hair with golden undertones (see my icon), and I'm wondering if there's a blue or purple Manic Panic dye that will show on my hair without bleaching first?

I really like this color, for instance...

And this (or just slightly darker than this)...

    Anyone know?

It can. It might not be as vibrant, but check out my albums for a picture of manic panic/special effects on my hair, which is naturally blonde(pretty light, but not bleached, so it doesn't pick up the color as well).

It will show up as a purple tint/blue tint at the very least, though you might end up with brown/purple hair as opposed to true purple.
    Fast typer.

you could probably get purple but you'd have to use gobs and gobs of it, so your natural color wouldn't peak through.

The main issue with darker hair and using an unnatural colour is it can affect the outcome. If you have any red in your hair and you use a blue, you will find you turn out more brown than blue as a result of any natural red tones. Same goes for very golden blonde hair, blue dye can very quickly look greenish because of the yellow tones from the natural hair colour. The purpose of bleaching is to not just to lighten the hair but remove as much pigment as possible so there's nothing to affect the final colour. The ideal of course is white hair.

But most manic panic colours I imagine would show, though it'd be most noticeable when it catches the light.

I want to go purple again now, damn you! That's such a pretty colour wig.

Yeah it wouldn't be as vibrant. On this link - here there is an example of purple over unbleached hair. Vrigi Rose soemtimes looks good on unbleached hair. another over unbleached hair.

I used pillarbox red over (dyed) medium brown and it worked, but the color faded really fast and wasn't as vibrant as it would be on bleached hair.

I've done Punky Color Plum over natural brown and white hair. The white picks up the color great of course. The brown gets more of a tint, but really shines in the sun. I have pictures in my album.

I've already used a blue (but i don't remember which one exactly) on my brown hair, and it showed a kind of dark blue, almost black but not too much, it was nice and stayed for about 2 weeks. I'll try to post a pic from my album (if i find how to)

Aw, man, now I feel the impulse the bleach, because I really want vibrant, unique hair lately, but my hair's pretty healthy...blahrg. That photo of the girl with long (bleached) Virgin Rose hair really makes me jealous.

    This one:

I don't want "eggplant" hair, but dark purple's fine...as long as it is recognizably purple and not black with an undertone, or some drab plummy shade.

My tests for After Midnight Blue and Black And Blue came out very muddy and rather greenish (and faded even greener before fading out entirely) on my mid-to-dark warm brown hair (mostly gold overtones, with a possible but very faint suggestion of copper). I would definitely pick a purple rather than a blue, and, obviously, just get one jar and do a hairball test first! One of the cool pink colours might even give you a purple.

Whatever the colour, if it's cool, it will probably come out muddy on warm coloured hair.
