What beautiful braids! You all look fantastic.
I love how positive, helpful, and realistic this forum is, unlike social media.
Hey, so I'm not sure if anyone remembers me but i was on this forum about a year ago. I started growing out my hair again for a friend's wedding, and that wedding happened back in May!
This forum honestly helped me a lot during my freak-out stage. I hadn't had hair much past my chin in years, and I for some reason thought that since I wasn't able to learn to french braid in high school I'd never be able to learn (I was wrong!). What really helped was all the kind posts on here encouraging everyone to appreciate their hair. I kinda feel like young women are taught to tear themselves down to not seem arrogant, but I've learned that helps absolutely no one. I really love my hair now, and there is nothing bad about that
Through growing it out I've been getting trims, layeres, and highlights, and it's been a lot of fun. Not the most pure way to grow out hair lol, but my stylist has been great and my hair still feels healthy and soft. I honestly didn't think I'd keep it long much after the wedding, but I think I"m going to keep going! I'm actually to a length where buns are easier, and my accessory selection has been slowly growing. Like I said, I'm actually enjoying my hair now.
I haven't taken any proper pictures of my current hair length, but I thought I'd share some from the wedding, it's not a HUGE difference, though I'll try to get a good picture of it currently during daylight hours, when it's been washed. Hair and makeup was professionally done at the wedding if it's not obvious, ha.

Thanks! We all lucked out honestly. First of all the Bride's as sweet as they come and was always very flexible with us, and then all of the bridesmaids got along and were happy with the dresses, hair, and makeup choices! I hope that happens more often than we hear about![]()
I do remember you. It is awesome that your friend was a gracious bride. And it makes me happy when this community helps anyone nurture a positive relationship with their own hair. We do try to be good to eachother and supportive, even if we are not perfect. Your hair looks great and feel free to stick around. I've been on and off this forum for years and I still learn new things about both hair and people who grow it.

Hey: it’s fab that you are feeling so good about your hair. No pictures for me so I’m guessing you have some privacy setting on, but the news is worth sharing even without the pictures.
I can't see the pictures either, but I remember you!!! It's nice to see you again, thanks for the update![]()

Hope you can fix the photos because I'm very curious to see
Nothing like that "first time growing out" feeling, when you discover how good your hair can look![]()

I think more people remember you than you think. And yes, a flexible bride can be a godsend. I'd love to see you more on the forum again.
