Default Anyone tried Marc Daniels Ultra Organics Clear Henna Wax?

Hi all, I did a quick search on this site and couldn’t find out much about this line by Marc Daniels (possibly because it’s an Australian brand?)

Anyway, I’ve been eying off the clear henna wax as a kind of co-wash/treatment. Their website also mentions that it “washes away build up” which I do need occasionally, and I’m trying to steer away from sulphates and cones, so I think this could fit the bill.

Anyone tried it? It’s not that pricey at my local chemist, so I guess I could just try and see, but I’d rather know for sure that it’s not going to permanently put colour in my hair before I try it (that whole henna thing has me intrigued, but I don’t want permanent colour).

I Googled around to find ingredients. I don't see henna listed among them.

Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, Sage Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract*, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Extract*, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract*, Betula Alba (Birch) Extract*, Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Leaf Extract*, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract*, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Sorbic Acid.

I don't think it will dye your hair.

Unfortunately I noticed a couple of sites have listed the ingredients for their chamomile treatment, which got me confused because I’m sure I read “lawsonia” in the shop...hang on, I’ll see if I can find the ingredient list...

Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) Leaf Powder, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, Sage Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract*, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Extract*, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract*, Betula Alba (Birch) Extract*, Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Leaf Extract*, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract*, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Linalool.

So, yeah, it has lawsonia in it...has anyone heard of a way to stop lawsonia colouring hair? Maybe I should just buy a tub and do a strand test...

Quick update...I did buy a pot. It’s neither clear nor a wax...it’s like a brown conditioner with a bit of a hay edge to its perfume. I tried it on some shed hair for about half an hour, and I didn’t notice any colour deposit, but it did feel nice after so thought it was worth a try.

I used it after a clarifying wash & left it on for 15 mins or so under a shower cap before rinsing off. My silvers are still silver, and my hair soft and shiny, so I’ll stick with it for a bit...might be a nice co-wash so long as colour doesn’t start to build up with repeated use.
