Default Hairstyles to protect ends that AREN'T updos?

So I look eh when my hair is in an updo. It's okay if I braid up the front, but I'm still not fond of it. Right now I mostly wear my hair in some sort of braid, most commonly a side english braid. While better than down, I'd still like to protect my ends more as now that I'm past hip they seem to be taking more abuse. Any ideas?

You can fold the braid over and tie the ends to the base, hidden underneath, in a loop.

Paranda braids? If you've got tapered hair and/or fairytail ends and use a paranda longer than your hair, you can keep your hair inside the braid and only have yarn as the tassel. If you've got blunt ends they tend not to work so well.

This is a good idea. And you can put a bit of serum or coconut oil on any ends that stick out.
