Oh wow I'm so excited for you!
Try searching cutegirlshairstyles on google- they have a whole host of braids etc which are actually grown-up, despite the website name.![]()
Tomorrow I graduate!I'm sooo scared... Truth to be told, I've been so busy I haven't already thought how I'll wear my hair: help, please
?
My hair is midback lenght, fine and wavy, and I am not very skilled. I now how to french, lace and (with some difficulties) dutch braid, and I usually wear my hair in a cinnabun or in a pencil bun with a sticl.
My dress is blue with a white peter pan collar, so I think an updo/bun will be the best match to show off the collar.

Congratulations! I think a French Twist always looks formal.
I want to finally get back to Classic. Growing again starting March 2018.
Congratulations!
I like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNcEt-mTVKM
You could always go with a disc bun or LWB with a pretty clip?
henna keeps it red, and red makes me happy.
Pixied for 15+ years and liked it.
Growing for fun.
Congratulations SleepyTangles!
I agree with XcaliburGirl, a french twist is a nice formal updo. Here is an easy to follow video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6cjaX_rUuE
Enjoy your special day!
Braided Beehive. It is beautiful and simple, but it looks impressive!
Made it to terminal length at mid-calf, now I'm maintaining at my favorite length: Classic!
Love it. Want to try it when my hair is long enough.
I love the flipped bun... Since you can do a cinnabun, you can flip it, and make it look very french-twisty.

For my hair, a French Twist is a no. It is an excuse to slither and escape. Escaping hair is not fun (especially at formal events).
Where other women use a twist, I tend to use a tucked French braid. Similar sleek look, but much less escape prone. Since I have the kind of ashy hair that's blondish, brownish, reddish and all streaky, a French braid also shows off the complex color and looks extra intricate. A folded braid gives a similar kind of look as well, but it tends to make your hair color look more uniform. Both styles work for BSL hair.
Same vein but with more height on top... bend over, and braid your hair from the nape up towards your crown. French or Dutch, doesn't matter. When you get to your crown, wind your hair into a favorite bun and anchor it. Sock buns are good if you want big hair. I usually wind up doing cinnamon buns or knot buns. And stuff like the lazy wrap, pencil bun or nautilus also work.
There's also a bunch of styles based on twin braids that work at BSL. Heidi or milkmaid braids are easy, obvious, and they tend to suit a lot of women.
Congratulations, Sleepy Tangles!
Here's a link to the elegant but easy crown braid (it uses only 2 sections of hair and they are "twined" rather than braided as you go around the head):

Your hair is a beautiful color, by the way. One last note: be sure you detangle all your hair before beginning. Good luck!
