I finally got around to taking a picture. This is fresh from a wash, air dried, with no brushing or manipulation. There are a few pieces touching the towel. I think I would definitely be there stretched. I'm not sure whether to call it or not.

    Happy growing to everyone!!

With rare exception, no matter what I did with it, I could feel the weight of it, and it was uncomfortable.

Lovely hair, NimbleNut! You are so close! If it were me, I'd give it another month and see.

Everyone is so different! Some call it when a few hairs have reached, some call it stretched and others, unstretched.

I'm hoping that I find my own sweet spot where I can do the things I want to do with my hair, without it being "too much" or "too little". APL is a really nice length, though! A general "long" length, but it's still easily worn loose and such. But I've also really liked it much shorter, too! Can't go wrong when you're happy with it, really.
So true! I was unhappy with my long hair for a good 2 years before I decided to just let go of it already and try something new! The only time I'm unhappy with my current length is when I try to get it all up and back because I'm gardening or something, and pieces of it fall down. I'd like to be able to wear it down whenever I want but still be able to get it up and back when I want. APL might be a better length for that.

Yay! How nice, your hair looks great! I would as well wait just a bit more since you're 'almost' there in the pic, but ofcourse this depends totally on you ofcourse! I like the waves!

I ordered various bows and flower clips from Claire's yesterday. I always wear my hair up and I love using things like that to add interest to my hairstyles.

My cinnabuns still aren't the best looking but it's getting easier to just throw my hair into one. My ends don't tuck in easily as they are still blunt, even after not trimming in 8 months. No complaints though as I love my blunt ends

It looks like we're both about the same distance from APL! I'm calling it when it's unstretched.

I think that's what I'll do as well. If nothing else, it's just that much less time that I have to wait until I can call BSL, right?

On a side note, how do you guys deal with scalp cleavage (those of you that have it)? The only thing that seems to work is brushing frequently as it dries or blow drying it. I don't usually have the patience to blow dry it on cool and don't want to use heat. Brushing it kills any texture that I have but in a weird kinda wavy but mostly straight sort of way that just doesn't look good I don't think.

Well it's up to you to call it now, stretched, or wait for unstretched! I've seen a lot of curlies and wavies choose to call stretched, due to variable shrinkage. The waves, wurls, and curls are never the same length twice, but stretched is more accurate every time. Even I stretch my hair, as it waves up a smidge due to its length (or it could be more wavy that I think, idk), and I want more accuracy.

But the argument for unstretched is that you're calling when it looks that milestone. Which also goes for more than a couple hairs, as well.

Yes, APL is a very nice middle ground I think! Just long enough that you can still do a good amount with it, but still short enough that leaving it down is barely any bother. Except that one time I hit waist (I'd just given birth and didn't want to bother with my hair lol), I never went further than BSL because it was "too long". Part of that was not having anything to do with it, but for all I know that will still be the case even with all the style ideas here!

But CBL-APL was generally my "sweet spot" back in the day. I could leave it down, or put it all up very easily. I can't wait to get back to APL!

I found some of my old bows and flower clips while moving! I need to get them out so I can use them haha. I love them!

I bet another inch would help
