I'm checking in here, I'm about an inch and a half past SL. I have some layers in so I can't quite get sticks in yet. I used to have about waist length so I know what I'm missing

I'm trying to get my 2 year old daughter to let me do her hair (and keep it done), her's is APL.

This is how you measure it, with pics: https://sites.google.com/site/habiok...ir-measurement

You can do it as often as you'd like, but it can become a bit upsetting if you do it more than once a month because you can't see much of a difference from day to day...

Ugh, I'm still about 2 in until APL. This is taking way too long!

Anyway, I can't stand to have it loose since it kinks weirdly on my shoulders, so I try English, French and Dutch braids. It keeps it out of my mind.

Sigh. I'm still quite a few inches away from APL (I still need to measure my current length *avid procrastinator*). Just cut my hair from BSL to a little above SL in March. So far, growth has been pretty slow, but I'm optimistic! I just miss all the curls I had when I had longer hair. For some reason, after I cut my hair, I went from waves and curls to slight waves and mostly straight hair.

Welcome to the shoulder kink club, we're kinky!

Seriously, once your hair is a few inches longer it'll stay down your back.

Bahahaha. Yeah, right. My stupid hair won't keep flipping up!

It just occurred to me that I have no idea what my natural texture is really like. It's been cut super short and dyed for the past ~5 years, and before that it was constantly straightened for ~3 years. And, since all the hair I have now is chemically dyed (with some bleach in there somewhere), it's probably all messed up too. I'm not planning to chop any off until I hit waist, so it'll probably be at least a year until my hair is back to it's natural state, and without the stick straight part weighing it down. Weird.

There are things that help some people, but they're not answers across the board, you know? Like for me, I have trouble synthesizing biotin so supplementing helps. It won't everybody. Same for protein powder. That will help some, if they need it.

I did an infinity bun for the first time today. It was easy-I was suprised. It's not gorgeous, but I'll focus more an the aesthetics next time.

Congratulations on the infinity bun! It will be nice when I can do more hairstyles. At least if I am not happy with the length, I am so pleased about the condition of my hair. Just have to continue on and be patient.
