Sorry to hear about your mom, lapushka. I can relate to the stress shopping so much. I've been crazy stressed for a month and a half again and now I really feel like splurging on hair products or whatever. I won't, though. :/

I feel you on shopping when stressed, Lapushka! Sorry to hear about your mom.
I spent a week in France and found the Loving Blends/Ultra Doux green tea/5 herbs shampoo. I really like it so far because it cleanses well but doesn't dry out my hair like other loving blends shampoos did. I may have bought a second one, haha

Ahh, glad to see I‘m not alone with my love for this shampoo! It’s such a gem, I keep trying out new stuff but I always come back to this because it cleanses so well without drying out my hair. :)
lapushka, I‘m sorry about your mom. I also shop like crazy when I‘m stressed, especially hair stuff, and went off the rails during the last few months. Hope you feel better soon!

I’ve been on a bit of a hair toy shopping spree. I’ve bought Bilbo’s Sting letter opener, a Dragomira clear acrylic hair fork second hand on fb, and I’ve got a ficcare modded by Nightblooming on the way from the Swap board. I’m currently on a no buy for hair toys as a result xD

I received a Barrette Hair Fork from Saya designs. much bigger than I was expecting (well, for my fine hair) but it actually holds my bun together so I'm very pleased! My hair is too fragile for metal and single sticks don't hold my hair up well enough, it just slides right out so this is great.

Herbal Essences, and my fave conditioner the Hello Hydration is no longer sold in my country. Over the border, in an online drugstore, they suddenly had it (not always) *and* on sale for €1.05 so I got... 40 bottles. Yep, forty bottles! I am not even ashamed. :cheer:

Thanks! :) Yeah. I don't even care if I went overboard. At a little over €1 a bottle, I feel great about it. Yes I spent over €40, but what would I have spent if I had had to buy them full price (which is over €3 for sure). These were on deep sale. Deep deep sale. And they, last time I looked, no longer had these. I mean these are discounter prices!

I've been on a hair product spending splurge as well. I've just bought a 60oz jar of SiliconeMix Deep Conditioner, 3 bottles of Garnier Fructis Humidity Sleek & Shine Hair Milk, The S Curl Moisturizing Activator Spray, and a pack of 4 banana clip barrettes all from Amazon. At CVS I've purchased a bottle of Tresemme Smooth and Silky With Marocan and Argan Oil, and Loreal Dream Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner. I've been really wanted to try out that product for the longest since everybody here raves about it. I also want to try their hair mask as well.

I got some bobbie pins. I was reluctant to purchase because I'll end up using them for a few months and then my hair will be long enough to not need them. They'll end up sitting in my bathroom cabinet for months/years... like last time. But I'm now glad I did, they are holding back shorter bits well.
I also got a wide tooth wooden comb. I only had a wet brush and a fine tooth comb. I prefer a comb for updos and general untangling when dry.

My recent order from MDWoodenArt on Etsy that I'm in love with. I have searched for years for a wide tooth wooden comb that I could use for detangling and never found what I was looking for until now. It's huge, comfortable to hold and the tines are long and not too fat so is able to reache into my volume and glides effortlessly. I'm so happy.

I repurchased Shea Moisture honey and yogurt protein mask since I'm just about out of it (and it's my best conditioner for reducing frizz in the humid summer). I just got a TT stick during the sale too! The snakewood ones are gorgeous. Though they are pricey, especially to non-longhairs, the craftsmanship of TTs are absolutely exceed their value to me. I can finally bun again after a long benign neglect period, and I decided to celebrate and prepare for fall/winter by splurging and getting a new hair dryer and brush.
My old hair dryer was a 20 year old dinosaur with only one (super hot!) heat setting, and I used it only when it was freezing outside because I was afraid of damage. My new one feels like such an upgrade! It has ion and ceramic techologies and 3 heat settings, the first is nice and cool and the second warm but not too hot. I don’t mind air drying in summer, but when it’s cold outside I just want to have dry hair ASAP and it takes forever to dry if it’s humid AND cold outside.
And I ordered a Tek big oval brush with regular pins. I have a TT but I think it gave me split ends because I have not seen a split end since I chopped off 3 inches and stopped using it last year. I love wooden combs because my hair get super static in fall/winter. I hope the wooden brush will detangle just as well without being damaging like the TT was for me.

I bought a new brush a few days ago and it's honestly the best brush I've ever used! It's one of those brushes made from plant starch, the bristles are super flexible and in a spiral shape. I've heard some people call them "headjog" brushes.

Been trying different serums and leave-ins, which almost always feel sticky, or oily, or too heavy and weigh down my fine hair.
Yesterday I bought It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In product. Sprayed a few pumps on my hand after my washing and worked through hair and air dry.
Think this is going to be my go-to leave-in for a while. Feels super soft and silky and isn't weighed down or sticky or oily.
Anyone else like this leave-in?

Yes! This is what I use about every other wash. And yes, this is exactly why It's a 10 is the only leave in I've found that doesn't leave over a sticky syrup like film. I love how it makes my hair feel soft and silky without it feeling like I'm wearing extra product

I splurged big-time on a handmade tsuge boxwood brush from Chidoriya. It's such a treasure! I've been dealing with a lot of school stress and have an awful habit of running my fingers along my scalp which inevitably leads to picking and plucking. I heard that they were great for scalp massage so I'm hoping using that instead of my hands will keep me from tearing away at my hair.

I wish I hadn't. Tresemme Flawless Curls mousse comes in a 10 oz size and a 15 oz size. The smaller one runs about $6 and the larger $8-$9 at Walmart. I originally found the larger one and picked it up. I'd gotten 2/3 the way through when I thought I should pick up another. I like to overstock stuff so I don't run out. I could only find the 10 oz so I went online. Everyone wanted $15 for the 15 oz and I said no to that. I picked up a 10 oz at the grocery store in anticipation of ongoing supply chain problems. If I'd waited 2 weeks, I could've got a better deal on the larger can because it's at Walmart again. I just don't like the idea of running out of anything because plenty of times I've not had the money, didn't have adequate transportation, etc. And of course the quarantine shortages in 2020 fuel that a little bit.
Anyway, I have started wearing it down and curly again because i'm sick of buns. I like the mousse because it has nice oils in it. It goes on top of Aunt Jackie's Curl La La curl pudding which I HIGHLY recommmend--best thing I've ever used to put moisture in my hair, hands down--need a moisture product and then a hold product like mousse or gel.

I could buy them in my local health food store, but I prefer to buy them straight from the soapmaker (plus she's my friend so it's nice to see her). The farmer's market in my area is coming to an end soon for the winter months, so I bought enough to get me through until next summer. Actually, I probably bought enough to last until next winter! As a pre-teen and until I moved out of her house I used to be in charge of dyeing my mom's hair. She always gifted the little "cream baths" (my translation; its a term for an old school type of cream rinse/deep treatment) that came with the boxes. Anyhoo, today at the store I found a tube of the cream bath that came with her usual hair dye, and it smelled and made my hair feel just as good as it did back then! So many memories.

Only thing I have left is a leave-in that is currently in my mother's stash, as she has much thinner hair (also fine) than me and loves spray leave-ins. Whereas, I definitely need the creams. But it's old, but their products last for years!
If I wasn't a drugstore girl at heart, I probably would check them out more. But I had a product before the leave-in, and can hardly recall what it was, and that was super nice. I know that much. Yep, that is one brand that *can* blow some drugstore products out of the water.

Since I finished my Olaplex no. 3, I went on a website to purchase another bottle. But there was an amazing offer for K18, still pricier than the Olaplex, but at half the price it's usually sold. So I went ahead and purchased it. I calculated how much I'll use and it came out it'll probably last me 8 months, so after all, the price was not that bad.

I just purchased a bunch of LR flexis (and a couple of U-pins). Most in XS, a couple in XXS, and a couple of Christmassy/Autumn ones in MD to wear next year when my hair should be about APL. Went a little crazy but I hadn't purchased flexis since like March or something. It's also the first hair purchase minus a hairband, and a pack of hair ties, that I've made since I cut my hair short.
3 months now!

Treated myself to a wooden 3 prong fork, a pack of 3 wooden forks and a pack of 10 plastic forks. All from Amazon so we'll see how the quality is. They're all about 4" so a bit shorter than the metal one I have now so they should be perfect. I don't want to get scalped at my new job so I figured it's a good time to try different kinds. I'm excited to try the wood ones.

Amazon has some really cute hair sticks for really good prices. Now that my hair is long enough to do the bun that ive been wanting to do for a while, ive been going crazy with the hair sticks. The bun will stay without anything, but it looks so much cuter when I stick a stick through it.
Yeah I saw so many pretty sticks but they don't hold my hair nearly as well as the forks

It was on a deal (my Aldi... where else LOL) for €34.99 and you could choose between a curling iron, a straightener and a blow dryer, all for the same price. The curling irons and straighteners had almost gone but there were about 5 blow dryers left. Came with a 5 year warranty and a year more when you registered online, so I did just that.
I plugged it in as soon as I got home and it's so smooth!

I got a hair dryer. With a diffuser. A remington AC8000/8005 - it is a *machine* of a thing. But it's really nice! Such a nice diffuser! I will be test "driving" it tomorrow.
I just bought a Conair hair dryer yesterday. It has an AC motor which is more powerful than a DC motor. It has hot, warm, and cool settings and two speed settings where my old dryer only has 2 speed settings both very hot. This new one has infrared and ionic heat so it's suppose to dry faster. The cool shot blows actual cool air, not warm. And it has some kind of new diffuser that makes the air kind of swirl around rather than blowing straight out which should eliminate hot spots. I think it's a very good deal for $40. The two issues are that it's heavy due to the motor type and it doesn't get as hot as my old dryer. I do like to use very hot at first for a few seconds followed by the cool shot so as to minimize damage but help dry it faster. Diffusing long curly hair takes a long time. I haven't used it yet so I can't say. I can return it if I don't like it.
