    Default The Baerreis thread

Forgive me if there is one already. We have a Ficcare thread, why not a Baerreis one?

I'll start out with my just in finny:

On its own (on my new skirt fabric hehe):

and in my hair. First pic is the color just about as is, second is better pic of how it sits in my hair:

Great idea for a thread! I love looking at pictures of hairtoys, especially action shots!

Congratulations on your new acquisition, too, eadwine! Would you mind commenting on how you'd rate it for
    (a)) ease of inserting
    (b) hold ?

I'm curious since the prongs have a slightly peculiar shape.

    Greetings

I like it! The finny is the shape I want to get when I get a Baerreis. What kind of wood is yours made of?

    July 06 : 21-30 inches, layered . . . Dec 09: 36 inches, still fighting the taper.

As for ME personally, they don't hold as well as a regular fork. Reason being 1: I have floop hair, 2: the wider prong setting near the edge open up a bigger hole than the prongs later on (sliding in) need, thus making it sit less firm.

However they do custom work, so when you would want a finny with straight tines, let them know

I have one just like that, and I love it. The Finny and The Ursula are my two favorite hair fork styles, bar none.

Mine have fairly short tines, because my hair's on the wimpy side of normal, and curved because I prefer that.

Sorry I don't have any pictures, though. No digital camera (or any other kind, for that matter, LOL!)

I just purchased an Ursula in Tulipwood Rosewood that arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to get a good shot of it, but I'll try tomorrow. I did have to sand it just a bit, as it had two rough spots, but other than than it is LOVELY.

This is my first and favourite Baerreis fork. It an Egypt in Gabon Ebony. It's as sleek and shiny today as it was 2 years ago when I first got it.

I also have a Rosebud design. I love their forks.

I LOVE that finny in your hair, Eadwine! BEAUTIFUL!

I want a Baerreis, but I also want to be able to afford one, first. Also, as a fine-haired blend, I'm worried that they won't hold well, as I've heard that complaint from so many of my compatriots. Boo.

    They are stunning though!
